Teri,

I never could figure out how to post here. What I did was just use my PhotoBucket account, so much easier, and you can use it for all the different forums. No retraining with each new Forum.

By the way, i DO like your engine there. It should be perfect.....with those plans you got there. Are those blueprints to the Mercedes engine?

Regards
Steve

They are the William Wylam Drawings. They are available in a book of his drawings (can't remember the name of it... Help Terri!).
While being very heavy on detail, they are notoriously innacurate and not to be trusted as references...
As an engineer, these drawings make my teeth curl. WW has no idea about datums and dimensioning...

Cheers,

Huh

Hugh the name of the Book is Scale Aircraft Drawings by the the Publishers of Model Airplane News

Thanks Terri.

Don't get me wrong, the drawings in this book are beautiful and inspiring to look at. They even have detail that is not available anywhere else, But they should not be used as stand alone references.

My goal is to have fun on this build and share with the fine people here .

An admirable sentiment and one I agree with 110%. I have the same attitude with every build I do.

Keep going Terri. It's looking grand! What scheme are you going to finish it as?

Cheers,

Hugh

Hi Terri,

Stephen Lawson or Dansan Abbot will be able to tell you with certainty whether this machine had 4 or 5 colour Losenge. I myself am no sort of authority when it comes to Fokker or Albatros markings...

Cheers,

Hugh

Terri:

Please be aware that (IIRC) Neckle's machine is now thought to have parallel stripes (rather than diagonal) across the turtle deck. I believe this was mentioned in Osprey's D.VII Aces of World War I. That is contrary to most artist's depictions. Hope this info isn't too late.

PM me about lozenge.

Cheers!

Terri:

Here is a build to reference. I can't read the Spanish text, but it is a nice clean build.

Thanks Hugh for the kind words. For an OAW mid production Fokker D. VII, 4 colour would be recommended.

Hello All,
Hope you don't mind a tag along for the build. Currently working on a 1/48 DVII (OAW) early by Roden. Amazing patience with the phone wire. The engine detail is great. BTW did someone mention baking cookies for everyone?
Best Regards,
