I have a F9F Panther in my stash that I have been eyeing for a while now. This would be the perfect excuse to build it.

I'd be up for a Dragon Fairey Gannet, got to be the ugliest aircraft of Modern times, or I could go the opposite way and do a Sea Fury. Nexy summer would be good as several campaigns finish then

Basically you should plan a campaign to start such that is does not interfere too much with other campaigns. For example, there are currently Aeroscale campaigns starting in November, December, 2 in January, one in March and one in mid April. So as to not overload the Aeroscale members, it is probably be best to propose May 1st and have it run for 6 months.

I could probably be talked into joining this campaign.

Good call Vance. I've got the Thunderbolt, the Wurger and maybe stripes on my schedual.

Next thing that comes to mind is the question "what is an aircraft carrier"? Could this be it?

This is the swedish aircraft cruiser "Gotland", photographed in the south atlantic a few years before WWII. In the rear you see a Hawker Osprey. One of the total amount of four (4) aircraft aboard.

This would be a challenge though, since I haven't finished a biplane . . . ever.

I am in. 1st May could be a good starting point. Remember to have 10 people wanting to join before writing the submission.

I am definately in on this one. I spent too many hours over the water looking for submarines, so now with all of the sleep I could do an F4F.

Hello together ,
I see there is interest for this capaign.
I think that in this campaign will be for all planes which take off and landing on an aircraft-carrier. So not planes which stationated on normal ships (for example the Ar 196, take off from ship but cannot landing there, so it is a seaplane).
I think all time will be ok, from the beginning of aircraftcarriers until now. And all countrie will be accepted. Scale 1:144 - 1:24.
Date of start this campaign? I don't know, maybe admin can help me
Best regards to all and sorry for my bad english language

Sounds good to me, Dirk. Especially since the is a seaplane campaign later in the year. I think the start could be 1st May and the campaign could run for 6 months.

Looking forward to it.

Hey Tony - you could totally do that Hawker Osprey for the "Sea Planes and Flying Boats through History" campaign that is coming up next year.

Yeh! Just bought a trump wyvern with wing fold and undercarriage set from ebay for a tenner. I have a better home for it than someones stash, that'll be my build just hope I can do it justice. Got plenty kits and campaigns to keep me going for the next year now.

A) Sorry, but thats wrong. The Gotland normally carried six (6) aircraft. It had the ability to carry eight (8) aircraft, and could easily be modifies to carry eleven (11) in emergency situations. (None of them where Messerschmitts, though! )

B) The S 9 Osprey is one of my favorite aircraft! I was hoping that AZ Models would release a Swedish version 1/72 (as they did the B 4 Hawker Hart), but I don't think they will). The PH models kit looks pretty good, though!

Please include 1/144 and I would definitely join the camaign, btw!

Cheers! / Polarbear

Seems like we are 14 people up for this campaign now - more than enough.

Has it been submitted yet?

Hello,
I think helicopters shouldn't be allowed, cause many othe ships have them onboard.
What I have to do now further??
I am beginner, sorry.

naw i think we should allow helos. And vstol. As long as the particular aircraft being modelled has landed, and or taken off from a carrier. Documentary evidence required for doubtful cases. Like an army lynx or harrier on a RN carrier.

I saw above that the rules would consider takeoff-and-landing aircraft only, and when I see my campaign calendar for 2009 that's just as well. S9 Osprey is out then.

BUT, if the Bf 109 T ever started or landed on any carrier, for testing or avaluation or anything, I just might try to make one of those. Anybody who knows anything on that matter?
