I think she is turning out well considering my self inflicted mishaps and I learned from them......well at least I am aware.
A few details to add, coaming and things to paint and then rig...after that I have to wear her in a little I think somehow, washes, pigments I'm not sure, but I think a light overspray of something to take the glow and contrast out of the white/black is needed. I aded a little cream to the cross fields when I painted them so the decals seem to stand out.
A little pondering before I tackle it I think *meanwhile now the Encore DII has arrived I have that and the DIII OAW vying for my attention, the DIII has a little work done already but the DII looks so inviting, the PE is really quite nicely done and I have Part of Poland sets on order for both, well the DI set...I had intended converting a Roden DI before the lure to buy Encores offering grw too strong to resist.
plenty to do still Keith

Hi Keith,
I was wondering something. If you have the time will you explain how you wrapped the line to make the bungee cord on the landing gear? That's a very nice touch.

Sure Mark... quite easy really, I took reference from the Windsock Albatros fighters special. I assembled the undercarriage first, replacing the location pins with brass wire and the weak rear bar with a length of steel rod, knowing I was going to cover where the axle joined the legs meant I could apply plenty glue to hold it tight.

Give it a day or two to set, I used a thick sewing thread that has a smooth look to itsecuring it between the axle and leg where it would be hidden with a drop of Cyano......then loop it over the axle and round the leg then up over the axle on the outside and under the rear leg till it filled the gap between the leg and the round disc on the axle and the small peg on the leg. Basically it loops over the axle and under the leg, back and front over and over forming a fan shape around the loop of the underside if the leg.
Adding a drop of cyano everyso often stops it unravelling if your fumble fingered like me Finishing it with a drop of cyano on the thread where it would be out of sight. Finally I punched a disc of plasticard and drilled it through slipping it over the stub of the axle and glueing it tight to the cord.
Thats it basically, if anyone knows a better more scale looking cord to use I would love to know myself.
Hope this answered your query Mark
