If I hadn't gotten waaaayyy behind last year, I was planning to do the 1/32 Pfalz III. Sooo...that's my choice!

Man, I hope they put out a nice 1/32 Pfalz D.XII

Changing side here,
I would like to see that Camel from Hobbycraft built. With Parts etch and decals from Spada you can get this one to a nice allied fighter. There are always too many Central Powers - birds, so why not level it out a bit?

For a first 32nd scale, I would suggest one of the Albies. They are wonderful to build, and have a lot of room to add AM or scratch building, as you tend to do. After watching your other builds, I think you would enjoy them more than the other choices. If you do the Albie, do get the eduard PE set. But beware, it was not made for the OAW.

If you are not 100% confident about the new scale,I suggest the Camel out of the box. Simpler build and somewhat easier target for finish. Plus, in the rare instance where it flies into a wall in a storm of frustration it won't be a big money loss.

Thanks guys ! That narrows it down some . I have a lot of kit's and it can be very hard to decide on which one to do

The Pfalz D.III is a nice kit ! I even have the Part PE set for this . Can't find any suitable markings to do , so might have to do my markings . Good call Fred !

Albatros , another good choice . Don't have the Eduard set , but I do have Tom's Models Works set and then with all the add on's , looking might temtping .

Hobbycraft kit , A lot of work will go into that build and no ref on it either ! However all is not lost with that one . Don't have the part set but I do have Tom's Models Works British guns and interior sets . With the scratchbuilding , will turn out to be a great build .

Okay , the Pfalz D.III it is ! This I have lot's of ref on .

You make me the happiest man on earth!

I have several ideas for personal markings that go back to my fantasy days of playing Avalon Hill's Richthofen War, and Red Baron computer game.

I'll have to dig my canvas falcons out of packing soon and photograph them for the site. Here's my Dr.I:

Not bad for 1/700 scale, huh? ;-)

Nice Dr.I Fred !
Is that the dragon kit ?
I'm thinking about doing stripes again ( I like stripes ) or if I was the pilot of that machine .
I'm starting to plan out the build now and going through ref's on what detail I want to add . Part of the engine cowl will be off and have all access covers open . That is one sweet engine under there and with items enhanced ......................okay that's enough for now

Thanks Terri,

Yes, it is the Dragon 1/48. Nice model--IIRC, you built one? This is the model that about...er, ah...a year ago I intended to use as an example to someone asking how to do the streaked Fokker fabric.

Now that I look at it, I need to touch up a few things, like the fittings of the struts to the wings. Oh, and the propeller decals!

I look forward to your Pfalz!

Carefull Terri, the quality of ones build is inversly proportional to the amount of alcohol consumed during the build...

That's why I have so mauch port still in my cupboard.

Cheers,

Hi Terri!

Go the Albatros D.III ( oaw ).. I ordered one a few days ago along with a few others (including the DH.2) and would love to see that red and white striped scheme.

Order was
* Albatros D.III (OAW) german plane WWI 1/32 Roden 608,
* De Havilland Airco DH.2 British Fighter biplane WWI 1/32 Roden 612,
* Pfalz D.III german plane WWI 1/32 Roden 613, and
* SPAD VII c.1 aircraft plane WWI 1/32 Roden 604.

I ordered so much because I could , and you get free postage with orders over US$150. Postage would have been a killer to me in Australia!

Kindest Regards

Warren

Okay Hugh you are right , I will only have that wine after each modelling session to calm my self done . Just to be able to see what I'm actually building !!!!

Sorry Warren but the Pfalz has out beat the Albatros ................I would like to the candy stripe one . Carl ( Captain A ) did a fantastic job on his build when the group build was going . And I'm still waiting for to get my hands on Parts PE set for it . So you are going to have to wait for now .........................

Would be nice to see another Roden group build again I have placed my order for the DH-2 . The spad I will pass on not one I really like and I have enough in 72 scale with 48 leading the way . What I really waiting for is the SSW D.III to come out

Well Mark , you never know

I really don't care for the kit's options ( not colourful enough ) Ronnie Bar and Dan San Abbott have some very nice porfiles on the subject and a few are up in the air .

Leaning more on the side of .........what if I was the pilot of said machine .............

Terri, I did the Blue/Red Man in the Moon scheme. It is plenty colorful. Looks great in the display curio.

As for the Pfalz being the sexiest aircraft ever, I think not. The sexiest aircraft ever is the Albatros D.V / D.Va. And I am bigger than you, so I am right. Sorry. The Pfalz would probably make my top ten though.

Very good choice Terri.
I built the Roden 1/32 Phalz D.III about 6 months ago. It makes up to be a lovely aeroplane, like you said, a very sexy aircraft. There is plenty of room for all those added details, limited only by your imagination. I did mine to represent Jasta 18 piloted by Ltn. W. Kleffel during the winter of 1917. I chose this one simply because I like the colours, the blue and scarlet go well together.
Anyhow, good luck and hope you enjoy the build.

Cheers

Des.

Now those are just fighting words there Carl

Geez Bob , you are supposed to be on my side here !!! ( The good , the bad and the ugly )

Thanks Des ! I was going over the kit last night making notes on what to add and change . Can cram a lot of detail into the cockpit and engine bay . The cowl covers will be off to show the excellent detail of Rodens engine .

Uhmmmmm, motivational prodding...unpack models 1st!
Hey, do you use oils to dry brush with?! If so, can ya toss us out the colors you use?...I want to try oils for dry brushing but no-one likes to toss up what colors they use. I need to know which colors to grab.

And now, back to our scheduled build...the DVIII razor...ooops, I mean the "Pfalz DIII"!
Push all those drive by shoes out of the way and git er done!
BTW...which one am I...the good, the bad or the ugly?{no - "the p.i.t.a." isn't one of the options}
