Kornbeef is still alive, heart is still beating.....rechecks...yup! I've just had a totally awful few days trying to keep the company I worked for from closing.....but it did Yesterday...went down with all hands. With the current state of the building industry here it looks like a career change again.
So as you can imagine, Modelling has been low on the lists of things concerning me and tackling rigging even lower on the scale. That said I have been tinkering with a 1:48th OAW DVII I have in the stash to keep what mind I have occupied.
Down but not out...K will take to the air again soon.......now I cant afford those Microsculpt lozenge decals I put off buying LOL

Hi Kornbeef.
Firstly, very sorry to hear about your business failing. I have been a retrenched employee my self when the company I worked for for nine and a half years went into receivership. I was lucky to walk straight into another job, but it was a very emotional time. I feel your pain.
Secondly, great job on the SE5a. I really like the clear doped linnen affect.
Good luck with the rigging.
Cheers,
Hugh

Hi Keith!
I am very sorry to hear about your business problems. I can´t argue enough about these corrupt money eaters which are behind this crisis.
My Modelling business also has turned down to zero since a few months. But we will keep our heads up and have some new ideas...maybe training spiders for doing the rigging as Stephen mentioned.
Anyway your build looks fantastic and the look of the fabric of the underside of the wings is outstanding. It looks absolutly translucent and real...congrats for this great work.
Regards Peter

Thanks for the kind words guys, and Terri.
Even though you are 95% sure its inevitable, you soldier on.
Anyway, I had some loft *stash* therapy sessions yesterday. Gonna take a few days to adjust then tackle life, in those few days I intend to immerse myself in bringing a few of my half builts closer to finished...not all them stringbags I'm afraid though......bows head in shame and winks mischeviously :-P
Once again thanks... and Jim your note makes me appreciate that I am quite fortunate, timing wise etc, glad to see you're bouncing back.
Peter.. if you want to check those spiders work once they are trained send them to me and I will evaluate their skill levels for you........
TKS all

Keith,
I wanted to send my best wishes for you, too. I'm a firm believer in prayer and positive thinking. Like all of my other friends in your situation, I'll send prayers your way.

Jim,
I'm okay, getting a little building *kits* done but havent the attention span to sit and rig...working on a couple of 1/48th DVII's in spits and spots and a P47 Shhhhhh!
Theres a lot of positives to losing my last job which now I'm only just starting to appreciate...
:)
But thanks Teri, Mark, Jim, hugh and Peter...... it is much appreciated.

Glad to hear that Keith,
I know that the day my wife and I were told we were both laid off permanently we were absolutely freaking inside, but now I can look back and say our lives are 150% better on every point(including our relationship). I think youll see that God always uses what we consider to be bad events for the greater good, even when we dont see it. Like the hitchhikers guide says in large freindly letters"DONT PANIC" ..(thats Douglas Adams BTW)

The underside looks fantastic! I will have to revisit how you did that and see if I can duplicate the effort. Cheers!
