Looks great Steffen
It's certainly a pretty bird and right or wrong I like the charger intakes.
As always, nice work mate. I'm already following your F4u build.

I only mentioned the Corsair because Aleksey asked for it ..
A propos other projects. How is your butcher bird coming along?

Steffen,
Great finish- you have achieved a really nice subtlety to the mottling. And now we can move on with you to your next project- excellent!

Hi Steffen
Yeah got a good start last night, sprayed the undercarriage in RLM02, prop & spinner in RLM70 and got the cockpit parts in RLM66 so when I've finished messing around with my old car tonight (gotta get it up for sale) then I'll get the detail parts painted and hopefully start getting it together. Might well need your help actually Steffen. The aircraft is an A6/R11 wk n 550148 (white 11) and I'm using the OWL decal sheet on which they state that the starboard underwing should be in black. Now this does look pretty snazzy but I only have pictures of the port side and tail. Do you possibly have any references to suggest a black underside wing? I believe it was trialled for searchlight recognition on Ju 88's but have never seen pics of it on a Wurger.
Thanks in advance
Howard

Many Thanks Ben and Jean-Luc!
J-L: I would rather leave it here .. it is really not that good to show it around.....
@Howard: unfortunately i only found 2 pix from the left side, which are not even good enough to tell if the lower surface was black or pink or whatever. I would stick to the instructions. Firm facts will appear when you are done, proving most probably that you did something wrong .. I know from experience (I will search a little further)

LOL Thanks Steffen, you are quite right I have no doubt that as soon as I finish this model a brilliant new picture will be found that shows that my model is completely wrong!!
I bought three different FW190 books over the weekend (cheap book sale) and only one has a picture of the plane and says it's an A9 when you can clearly see it's not!!!
Thanks for your time once again Steffen.

But why you don't open the canopy to see the detail of the cocpit clearly
Cheers Nick

Well, I though about it, but it just has the Eduard dash and seat belts, so there is nothing special. You can see both through the closed camopy too.
@Howard: I found another pic, but again no hint towards the lower surfaces .. thinking about it, I might have seen a pic from the front .. but I cannot remember where and also it might well have been Migges "white 9" ...

Many thanks Aleksey.
As for your suggestions:
1. I am not a big fan of dirt on the chute ejectors. I have discussd that pretty long with Eetu in one of the threads and thus I added a little bit. i normally would do nothing.
2. No paint chips: this was a Kommandeurs bird. It was kept in top condition Furthermore it was the high speed/ high altitude plane so it most probably was polished (I do not like the glossy look on my models so I keep them flat) ... I may have added a bit too much dirt on the underside already, but it is a very "hard" to reach place for the ground crew and not easily seen by the camera also you have a mixture of oil from the engine and exhaust sooth here so it may stick better to the surface
3. there are exhaust stains in brown and black sooth pigments but i kept them subtle as in the pix I have none can be seen
all the best
Steffen
P.S. the next model is my Hasegawa F4U-5N for "Night Stalkers". i am already on it... see thread in Cold War forum
Thanks for info!
What about that Spit?

Hi Aleksey
Well, I want to use my good motivation to close a few older projects and to make some campaign deadlines. I try to get the Night Stalkers Corsair finished and then I will start a new projects for Stripes in the sky a Fokker E.V on the colours of Theo Osterkamps aircraft. After that i plan to finish the Tamiya Zero I have .. and then who knows .. this are already too much plans and fate will probably interfere.
I would not be sad if I could find a job and of course modelling will suffer from that (at least the speed will slow down). Modelling is actually kind of meditation for me and helps me a lot to keep the spirit!

Hi all
here are a few pictures that Marc Toillié took when i visted him together with Jean-Luc and Oliver (Erlawerke) .. sorry i had to "de-nazify" them (as all the other pix too) because I published them on my website too. Marc used one of his fantastic dioramas as background.

Well Steffen,
I guess you was a bit lazy doing the wooden floor, it doesn`t look as a real one. ((( just as from cement...
and else - unlikely the wall could be painted in camo....
well, on general - the dio looks great!
cheers!

Hi Steffen
I think this is one of your best builds of late. Really nice work.
Aleksey - reading Steffen's post, it doesn't look like he supplied the backdrop.

Hi Guys
originally i wanted to bump-answer this tomorrow, but before some bad mood is comming up:
The very nice dio is from Marc (aka Mark58). I think the planking looks very nice .. coming from Belarus you might have seen a few old wood buildings (I know a few in Gemany) When wood becomes older (and is not permanently wet) it turns silver greyish with some green hues here and there and I think Mark hit that perfectly (it might not come out in the photographs that good though) .. also your monitor settings might be different then Marcs when he reworked the pix --- I just shrunk them, no further manipulation .. except the fun fake photo of course
@ Rowan .. this is for sure NOT one of my best builds .. if you look up the thread a bit you will find my muttering about different things I do not like or was that one of the comments that end after a long appraisal with the word "not" ... one of the special British humor that totally escapes me...
I am just glad it is finished .. Know that feeling finishing a model? ... at all???
cheers

Hi Steffen
Nevertheless, I'm really impressed by how the camouflage has turned out.
At the moment I'm looking forward to just starting a model again, let alone finishing one!

Hi Rowan
Many thanks .. yes I also like how the camouflage came out.
You know I am just poking you to finally finish that Fw 190 F-8 (or any other of your 98% models) .. but go a head and finish the La-5FN first .. looking forward to read the article! If you like, finish the Bf 110G-2 next but then I want to see the Focke-Wulf or I send you my Fw 200 so you will be cursed forever ...
It is all about fun and if you hate to finish a model, just start one after the other .. for me it is quite satisfying to finish the kits ... esp. as the rest of my life is just zum kotzen .. "That's Barf, Sir" ... oh I love that movie
all the best

Hi Steffen
I can't promise that my 98% kits will all survive the move away from London (I'm afraid I destroyed a Hellcat last night ) - but please don't send me the Fw 200! I've still got one glaring at me from the shelf because its box is too big to fit into a packing case!
All the best

ouch .. totally or just a bit of battle damage?
.. luckily when I moved my models here earlier this year I just had a broken pitot ...
good luck with the rest of your models .. hope all will work out

Hi Steffen
I trashed the Hellcat deliberately. I wasn't happy with the finish, because I felt I'd overdone the weathering (too much paint chipping) and I'd lost track of where smaller subassemblies had got to, so...
I think I'm going to have to get used to being ruthless about my half-built kits if I'm ever going to get my flat clear before my deadline to move out!
Talking of which - it's time to get back to work packing stuff!
All the best

A very interest work you have made. The wall at the back, you made it with wood or it{s a resin piece?
