ok folks , i cant belive how quickly this has come around but we're 1 month from starting this campaign!....(note to myself-must finish 2 builds on the table at the moment).
when it begins i'll start a new thread something like "official origami campaign".
so collect all your bits and pieces and grab the saw ready to hack off some unsuspecting part of your model!

well I picked up a 1/72 vista Fulmar for 99p!
It's a nice little kit and the Fulmar has an interesting wingfold.
When I say interesting I mean awkward
So out with the razor saw. Are we fools starting this 1st April?

Interesting build, JP. It will be interesting to see what 99p will get you.
It is kind of funny to start the campaign on 1st April.

It's not a bad wee kit, in the box at least. Engraved (somewhat heavily) lines, nice glasshouse.
As for accuracy I can't vouch for it, maybe if I get some plans I'll lay it out against them.
The airfix/revell kit is this one reboxed. Dunno if it is collectable since Vista is no more.
Tough luck little Fulmar, I butcher em and buiild em.
ScotNats are next month so I'll see what I can pick up for it there. A ref book would not go amiss. 4+ do one
and they are usually pretty good.
Airwaves do a PE cockpit and also a wingfold.I could end up spending £30 on this 99p kit. Crazy!
But why pay for someone else do all the fun stuff.
I think we've all got an odd sense of fun here.
It may win for narrowest wingspan if nothing else. 8ft in 1/72 should be about 1 1/3 in. Anyone doing anything narrower?

OK just signed up for this, I not very good at keeping up with my campaigns but at least this one follows my personnal build plan of FAA aircraft.
So either a Hellcat Mk.I (Hobbyboss F6F-3), Swordfish II (Tamiya) or Sea Mosquito TR.33 (Tamiya + Paragon conversion)

I'd join in on this one as the time frame fits in to my schedule with either of the following:
Swordfish Mk II.
F4u-1d Corsair.
or and early jet.

hi all,
as the title says, folded wings campaign?
there are many aircraft, not only carrier based but land and sea based that fall into this campaign.
i'm thinking of a start date around april 2010 for 12 months, the long timescale is because some kits will take a bit of scratchbuilding.
i'll get the ball rolling with an 1/48 hasegawa F4U-7 French Navy.....with wings folded of course.....
anyone interested?
paul
