hi all,
as the title says, folded wings campaign?
there are many aircraft, not only carrier based but land and sea based that fall into this campaign.
i'm thinking of a start date around april 2010 for 12 months, the long timescale is because some kits will take a bit of scratchbuilding.
i'll get the ball rolling with an 1/48 hasegawa F4U-7 French Navy.....with wings folded of course.....
anyone interested?

Great idea Paul !
I have Tamiyas F4U -1A in 1/48 as well as 1/72 . The dates work for me if I don't have to much on the go .

Just for clarity, must the wings be shown folded? That would certainly make things interesting! Would folding blades or tails of helicopters count?

I'll join in on this group build, my subject will be either the A-6 Intruder or EA-6 Prowler. Looking forward getting started.
Happy Modeling,
Joe
Oh yeah...if the Helicopter is added into the build, I'll be doing one as well.

excellent we're getting there,i've no problem with the helo's and yes something needs to be folded in the final model and yes if you want to do a "what if" go for it.
this realy does cover all areas of flight from ww1, on sea, land ,carriers, helo's, upto the present date.
come on just 3 more to get this started.............go on you know you want to.............just look in that stash, you must have something............remember a little scratchbuilding never hurt anyone............

Avenger.....nice
Don't forget everyone, there are more than just Corsair kits out there. There are folding wing Panthers, A-7 Corsairs, etc.
I hope this campaign gets off the ground. This one would be too cool to miss.

How about the origami campaign! I have been rummaging through my small stockpile and the Hobbycraft Avenger that I recently acquired is shouting out to be made. It is going to be FAA, with the fantastic folded back wings. I once made a similar version years ago using the Airfix 1/72 Avenger with folding wings, inspired by my uncle's days in the North Atlantic on an escort carrier during WWll.
