Hi all
Sounds good to me as well. Will give me time to find a Revell/Matchbox 1/32 scale DH82.

The rules are ok with me, albeit I think you should add that we all owe you a cold beer!

I might do an old "switcheroo" (is that an Australian word, btw?) and save the 1/48 Goose originally planed for the Seaplane Campaign (I have a Dorner Do 24T with all the fixings that is dying to get built for that one) and build the Goose for this campaign.

Or maybe I'll raise Lars' Norwegian Gladiator with a Swedish one? Hmmm, good thing there is still a couple of months to decide... No shortage of planes with skis in the Swedish Airforce, that's for sure!

Cheers! // PolarBear

G'day all, the temporary Winter Wonderland - Show us your Skis Campaign page is up, we need enlistees to get airborne !!

Just got to the thread "Campaign Proposals looking for Enlistees" from CRS, and follow the link.

I will keep this thread alive until we get close to the start date and then create an official campaign thread with a Roll Call as the first post, like I did for the Boom Boom Campaign, I think this helps to inform everybody of who is involved and the range of builds going on.

As always, I welcome any feedback, comments or suggestions, and anybody willing to Co-Pilot with me in case of emergencies please let me know.

Cheers all, and thanks for your support.

Hi Damian

I've signed up. I've got an I-15 and a Po-2 in the stash that'd be perfect for this.

All the best

I like the idea. I've seen some Russian birds with skis but nothing in 1/72. Then I thought of the C-130 1/144 scale but of course it would have to be a custom job.

2 more and we are GO ! I know you're out there, you can't hide from me for long, you might as well just enlist, select your build, then go back to your business until November. It is as inevitable as the rising of the sun, you cannot resist, you will not resist.

We got 10, we are OFFICIAL !!

Thanks for your interest and thanks for enlisting. Now I am going to annoy everybody with regular bumps and the odd photo to put this in the forefront.

Everybody please help me out if you come across any pics of relevance or interest here.

Cheers, and ROLL ON WINTER !!

Time for a shameless recruitment bump guys. We're up to 13 enlisted. Still plenty of time before we start, but please post some more pics of aircraft or proposed kits. I'm going with the P-47 that got me started on this whole saga, my plan is to scratch-build the ski legs from thin aluminium sheet around styrene "teardrop" ribs for stability.

I'm thinking of going with a "What-If" Russian camo and markings scheme as well.

I've got an early IL-2 that would be perfect for such a campaign.

D, I'd join in as long a what if's are allowed. I'd like to do a P-40 Russian with ski's. Dunno if one ever existed but I know we deliverd loads of P-40's to the Soviets in the lend lease program.
Doubt if I could ever find a picture of one like your P-47 though. Would this work?

Hermon, it just wouldn't be the same without you mate. What-if's are definitely IN !! I'm going for a What-if set of markings for a Russian P-47, but What-if builds will add some real flavour to the Campaign.

Fire it up. Cheers, D

You and me both mate, I just looked at my calendar and at last count I am enlisted in 14 that all start in 2010. I think my wife should go get a second job so I can sit home and build. That sounds like the best idea. I'll just go tell her

Well, that didn't work !! Doctor says I might be able to go back to work in a week or so, and I might even get the sight back in my left eye, eventually !!

Recruitment BUMP time guys. Drag out those Snow-Bunny kits strap on the snow-shoes and enlist for my Winter Wonderland starting in November !!

Winter Wonderland Enlistment page

We are up to 16 enlisted now, but I'm sure the open fire and mulled wine will lure a few of you out of hiding.

Cheers, and thanks for looking, D
