Hello Hans:

The Spandau looks good. I broke the site on the LVG. So I am going to cobble the one out of the J.1 for the LVG and put some other one on the Junkers.
I think your gun ring looks good. Looking at photos of that style of gun ring, doesn't show a lot of grain, more of a painted appeareance.

Thanks Lars!
You're very welcome at the Assembly Site, as reader and hopefully contributor!

Mark: great to hear, I was a bit unsure of the hue on the ring. Redid it once as I failed with the wood grain first time.

Hi guys and gals,

Started the weathering process on the Junkers, more here:

Great fun, the model really begs to be weathered to bring out all that lovely rivet detail

Hope you can figure out what to do with the engine. Your weathering really looks good, and I like your step by step tutorial, very helpful.

Take care

Thanks for your feedback Mark,

Yeah, that engine... only thing I can think of, is getting another kit, and that's just silly!

Hi Terri
Yes, a real bummer about the engine... Guess the best thing to do is just drop it: finish the engine and accept the mistakes?

About the eingine.

Drop WNW an e-mail. There customer service is fantastic. I bet they will send another engine sprue. They sent me an extra engine for my Alby because the order was delayed. They are great people who want to make sure the customers are happy.

Carl, I never thought of that... as you say, they have been veryy kind and helpful when I've corresponded with them.
Maybe if I (ah, what a brilliant excuse for the Missus!) order a Pup at the same time?

How weird is that: I logged in from an old account apparently (above, NBISaladin), so now I'm talking to myself!

For how long does one have access to the "edit" message function? I see that I cannot any longer edit my older posts above?

Logging in as your alter ego may have messed it up. I don't think there is a time limit.

Hej Jan,
Tak for dit venlige svar! That explains why then.
Indeed, this kit is perfect if you want to try out weathering techniques, a nice canvas as you say
Compairing it with the Albatros, the Junkers is absolutely huge!!

Hi Hans,

Great work on the weathering – totally agree with what everyone else is saying here Aslo thanks for the step by step tutorial might come in handy later on – I have this one in the stash, and i may tackle it once my other projects here are done.

Best Regards – and hope you find a solution to the engine crisis.

Mikael: Tack mannen (thanks man)!
I will post a comprehensive "errors in instructions" list and such stuff at the end of the build blog, hopefully that could be quite useful. As good as they are, there are some omissions and swaps of part numbers and so on in the kit.

That's why we all hang out at this great place called "Aeroscale" in cyberspace, right? To help, encourage, point out pitfalls to our brothers and sisters sharing our interest in the best hobby/pastime/therapy there is!!!

WOW! Took a look at your work via profile... I'm totally humbled.
You don't hang out at the IPMS Stockolm forum, do you?

Did you get the engine situation taken care of?
