I guess that's why I like using the Q-tip method . I can make them any size I want . Takes a while to get used to pulling them . In you pic's you have posted showing how you make your turnbuckles ( very well done I might add ) the wire is way to thick which you have stated already . You can use the wire from a set of old head phones for a disc-man or an old electic cord . If it has steel wire even better , for copper doesn't have the same strenght as steel . I twist my by hand around the smallest drill bit I have # 80 . and use # 78 or 79 to drill the mounting hole . When feeding the thread back through the turn turnbuckle , pull it closer to the wire hoop elemating the gap more . This will give a more realistic apperance and a neater finish . Hope this helps you out

Hi Terri, thank you very much for the explanation! I'll surely follow your direction for my next build.
In fact I am here to show you my last picture of ths buid that i consider finished!
On a final note, I have to say that I enjoied very much this build, and the Eduard kit (though not a very new one) is still quite good: easy to assemble but also challanging in many aspects. I also think that I learned a lot, so I hope my next build will be better.
I'll show you some pics now.
Let's start from a averall look at my F2B

The underside:

Now some close up:

What do you think of the gun? do you think it turned out ok? I am not sure... I painted it black an ěd then I highlighted it in silver, brown and graphite...
ciao

Beautiful work Edo. It's the easiest thing in the world to sit and lok at pics and pick faults, and if you are like me you are your own biggest critic.
True the riggings a little thick but wonderfully executed and the only thing I see with the weapon is the barrel looks a little soft in detail but at that scale it would...It took me a while to realise your kit was 1:48 and not 1:32, as I jumped in at the end.
Of course theres places to improve....thats how we all learn, I like your way of producing turnbuckles...a simple hook, I've been struggling with a drillbit and fat fingers...TY for the tip
Wonderful

Hi friends!
Thank you for the nice comments, it is very rewarding!!
As the good season begins, I'll try to catch up with other activities: I have a stash of film to develop that cries for processing! So I'll take a pause from modelling till september. I'll keep watching you, tough, both for pleasure and inspiration, so please keep on modelling; above all of you down under since winter is approaching and you will stop surfing!
Ciao and thank you again!

Fantastic.
I think you really did great on this build. I think the rigging is very convincing. A lot of people wouldn't even try to do the double lines. That is probably why I haven't done this kit myself, even though I have a few of them in my closet. The colors look good. I like the depth you got on the cdl surfaces. You should consider the WNW kit. I think you would really, really make it look good. So, What is next?
