No probs with Harriers having read a bio of Sir Syd last week I'd consider even allowing a Hawk. Maybe not a Camm original but owing a lot to him.
There is nothing after the Hawk anyway as the UK no longer has a Air Defense industry. Or any other industry for that matter.

If anyone is planning on building the 1/72 Academy Typhoon for this campaign, send me a PM, as I have some aftermarket bits that I won't be using.

Howz about a BUMP on this one JP ?? I picked up a Hobby Craft 1/48 Sea Fury at the right price and it came with several sets of RAN decals, so it looks like I might be doing 2 for you here mate

2011 is looking like a busy year now, I try to stop myself from enlisting in more Campaigns but you guys just keep coming up with irresisitible subject matter

As does the Ashes build.

I am in with the Matchbox early version of the Harrier. I think I might do a USMC version with experimental winter camouflage. It could be a nice and different looking machine.

More to follow when we get started.

Last operational flight of the Harrier yesterday. Sniff.

Us Brits better hope the Argies behave for the next ten years before we get an aircraft carrier and some jets to land on it

The RAF have half a dozen or so Eurofighters based in the Falklands (unless they've redeployed). I think the Argentine air force have a handful of Mirage III fighters, some Nesher bombers and a load of Skyhawks (bombers again). I reckon the Eurofighters would make short work of the Mirages, leaving the others undefended.
As long as the Eurofighters stay there, it should be ok.

thanks
Mike

I just realized that I have a 1/72 Airfix Hurricane Mk IIc, should prove to be a quick build so I'm in.

Actually now that I think about it, I also have a 1/72 Airfix Sea Harrier FRS1...

Excellent! another Camm-paigner!

Hurricane and Harrier good choice if I say so myself.

I'm going to burn out on hurricanes in this campaign, 2 airfix and a hobbyboss easybuild. all in god's scale of course.

That's 1/72 to the ham fisted heathens out there.

Sound good, I'm really liking these little Airfix kits. If I go with the Hurricane, I will probably build it as a Sea Hurricane. If I go with the Harrier, I will build it with markings from the Falklands War. I may build both if I have some extra downtime between campaigns.

This could be the ideal time to build my first resin kit.. I have an Alley Cat 1/32 Fury in the stash.. or there is a 1/32 Revell Hunter or Hurricane... Decisions decisions..

Talk about "big" decisions mate!

Ok, here is what I have. I will build one of these for sure, maybe both.

Thanks Jeremy.

Does the Sea Harrier qualify as Sir Sydney didn't actually design any of it? I am not saying you can't build it of course.. They are letting me build an XB-49 for the Delta-Wing Campaign..

If it does qualify does that mean that all the Trumpeter 1/32 Harriers of various ilks also qualify?

Harriers are fine. Ok he didn't design the Harrier per se but was on the board, and got Hawker into VTOL so I'll allow Harriers. I don't think a tribute to Camm would be complete without them.

Actually I meant Harriers OTHER than the original... which are nothing like the original and were all drawn up/designed after Sir Sydney departed this mortal coil..

Nick it seems everyone is busy with their many campaigns and life in general, but why dont you design a campaign banner and give it a go for us to vote on.

Aye I've been busy painting skirting boards and not landing at Edinburgh and flying round the North/Baltic Sea all week. Home now thank god.

Was like the jet stream was following me around. Plus we had pussy pilots who don't like to land in a wee bitty of a blaw. Never mind home now.

Yes Nick, good point, let's think about a ribbon.

Hmmmm, Camm's face, a hurricane, a harrier? or just the letters CAMM?

Show us what you'd like to see. At 50x20 pixels, less is more.

Get to work Camm-paigners!!

@warren: Why give me the opportunity to say no? I'll allow Sea Harriers. Would love to see a big harrier. 1/24 Airfix anyone?
