I thought Indians loved cricket. But I see you are sticking with the Wild Colonial Boys.

Well, that wild-boy mentality sorta fits with the Mohawk philosophy of no-quarter, and truth be told, an RAAF aircraft is lacking from the collection at the moment. Since I only build 1/32 scale, its not like I have hundreds of built models on the shelf (only 34 at the moment). I've got a bunch of RAF subjects, a single Kiwi subject, so it's either RAAF or an FAA aircraft.

Ok, so like Seinfeld once said, what's a wicked googly? Is that a Bosie? I guess I need to read...

Hi Jeff
Different name for the same thing, the googly is the english name and I think the bosie is the Aussie term. Basically when a bowler is bowling, the ball will normally go past the batsmans bat if he just stays still, due to the natural swing of the ball from the bowlers arm. But a bowler can spin the ball so that it will go the other way into the batsmens legs and hopefully tie him up in knots, or even more hopefully hit the batsman in the b*&%^+!ks if he is an evil australian bowler. Damned bounders!
Hope this helps.

First day of the victorious Ashes tour of 2010. Is it the ashes of Aussie cricket we'll be taking home? Must be the worst state it's been in as far as I can remember.

Wounded bears are dangerous though.

10/1 in reply KP first up tomorrow.

If he keeps his foot away from pointing to leg stump he might just get it together at the WACA?

We'll find out tomorrow.

Guesses for his score? I'll go for a quick 16, brought to a halt by edging to 2nd slip. Just to lull the Aussies into a false sense of security

First ball tomorrow.
Here is a bump for the Ashes Speed Build to take place over the days of the final test. 3-7 Jan
The Ashes might be decided by then but we can still battle in plastic.
Any Pom or Aussie A/C allowed. Must be built within the duration of the test. If it finishes early then tough, post what you've got.

Man of the Match for best plane.
Not an official Group Build (I can't be arsed)

Totals for finished a/c of either side (never mind the quality feel the width) (you can declare your allegiance if it not apparent) to decide the home of the Aeroscale Ashes.

All sorts of skullduggery are expected and even encouraged.

Underarm bowling and aluminium bats, that sort of stuff?

This will be fun, I'm sure we can get a few more speed demons involved with some regular bumpage here.

Cheers, D

England all out for 260, a third ball duck to the captain, hat-trick to Siddle on his birthday, Aussies 0-45 at stumps.

Stumps on day 2, Aussies 5-220 with Mike "Mr Cricket" Hussey on 81 not out. A bit of rain late on day 2 will put some moisture in the pitch and the seamers will rub their hands together.

Everybody with me so far ??

Methinks this is getting very interesting, comments from Jaypee to follow shortly no doubt . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Overcast conditions in the morning, are the gods turning the Gabba into Trent Bridge?

Yep advantage Aussies but still mighty close a few quick wickets in the morning could be very interesting indeed. Looks like we are getting a result in the first test either way. Rain permitting.

Thought I should throw in a post as Brisbane (home of the Gabba) is my stomping ground. Weather update: more of the same for the weekend (it's been overcast for the last month). Jimmy Anderson won't get a better chance all summer I reckon.
Divided loyalties for me. I'm a pom, but will be officially an Aussie in the new year, and have Aussie kids. So I'll sit on the fence and see how things go and don the appropriately coloured shirt and claim victory at the end of the series.
BTW, nothing in the stash for this build but will endeavour to get something from the hobby shop before the final test.

Your final act as a true Pom Simon, then you have no more excuses, start practicing the "Oi Oi Oi" routine.

not a good nights sleep. Dreamt hussey and haddin put on 300 for the sixth wicket. Anderson bowled a blinder but with no result. Thank goodness that was just a dream.

What an amazing game of ebbs and flows. Both sides have had periods of clear superiority then fallen away sharply. A draw looks like the result now, the poms don't have enough time to gain a clear enough lead then bowl us out. Or do they ? Or can we bowl them out in the first session then take to the bowling Gilchrist or Hayden style ?

Yep, anything could happen tomorrow. This is what the Ashes is all about. England had the luck today that deserted them on Saturday. Both teams still striving for the all important psychological advantage for the rest of the series.

Well a draw looks likely but there's been little predictable so far. Nice to have a possiblity of all three results in the final day of a test.

Anything other than an Aussie win is a result for England. The ACB picked the Gabba for the first test for a reason and if it doesn't come off, advantage England.

Didn't think I'd be saying that at the end of day 2.

I can only catch half the first session before TMS sends me off to sleep. Why do you colonials play cricket at such an ungodly hour?
