Ive been thinking about wanting to run a campaign for a while now and had a thought for this one after purchasing Hasegawas Mitsubishi F-2A (The Idomlaster- anime decals)
What If Campaign
Basically it would be let your imaginations run wild, any scale, any aircraft type (going to include helicopters here as well), any era for example:
What if the RAF Red Arrows used Harriers?
What if the P-47 was used by the Navy?
What if the F-14 and a Phantom mated?
What if the F-14 was used by the Ukrainian airforce
So really it could be build a kit and just change the markings to an airforce / military branch that hass not used that aircraft in service.
Or it could just be a total kitbash of several different kits. I think this could be a great fun campaign to have a crack at and would give lots of diversity and different ideas. I think the more bizzare paint schemes, decal options etc would be great. I don't think there has ever been a campaign like this before either
I would be looking maybe October 2011 through to March 2012 time BUT at the moment I would like some feedback, guage the interest first etc whatever happens the F-2A will be built at somepoint
Any comments / feedback welcomed

What If Campaign
What if the P-47 was used by the Navy?
Count me in for this one Sam, I picked up some Tamiya 1/48 P-47's cheap a little while back, and I have been scheming and plotting and looking for an excuse to build an evil big black P-94 Twin Thunderbolt Night Fighter (a-la F-82 meets P-61) !!
Bring it on I say !!

A few more pictures - just as inspiration and for discussion purposes.
One has to love that Falcon with Russian missiles or the F-22 in WWII Japanese camouflage.

Jesper: Sweet ideas! I'd go for the German or Japanese Eurofighter, but they're all pretty darn cool
Sam: Where did you get your Idolmaster F-2A? Is it part of a line like the Itasha cars?

Sounds good to me. How imaginative can we be? far Can I do a plane in the markings of an air force that never existed? Like, an alternate history, the Axis won WW2 type of thing?

Hi folks,
Great banners! Sign me up! I've absolutely no idea what I'll do yet, but the artwork on the blog so far is great!
Maybe Air Force One being a Cessna Skyvan (credit crunch and all that)?
Or Sopwith Camels with Jolly Rogers livery?
Can't wait, but before the campaign gets going I'm sure I'll have come up with a dozen ideas and discounted a dozen more!

Oooohhhhh..............a Mig-29 with WWII Italian smoke ring camo. I think I could pull it off. I'd join if it's like late, late, late, late 2011.

Signed up, I'm #4 Boss Lady. I will be doing a 1/48th P-94 Twinbolt night fighter from two Tamiya P-47 Razorback kits, and in RAAF markings. Will that be "What-If" enough for you ?
Cheers, D
