Yes, a brave man indeed. Looks good. I am terrified to tackle this in 1/32nd let alone 1/72nd. I built it when I was in high school in 1967 but didn't rig it. Too daunting.

Best

A very fine effort Paul and a good looking model, well done. I had enough trouble building and rigging mine in 1:32 scale, what you have done here is amazing.

Thanks Guys
I had built a couple of biplanes previous to this one and tried a couple of methods with the rigging. Sewing thread, stretched sprue but someone told me that invisible mending thread was as good (or similar) to the aeroclub rigging thread, which I can´t find here anyway.
To be honest the Revell DeHavilland is not the best kit going...the fuselage doesnt line up properly, as can be seen in the photos even after a lot of filling.
I had to do this one...it was a bit of a challenge and I found out you really need 4 hands to do it...
Cheers

Hi Paul:

The four hand statement could be applied to any WWI aircraft model I think. Many times I wish I had four hands, but that would require a lot of hand and eye coordination, which could prove problematic.
Best and have a great new year.

Very nice job.

That kit was my first attempt at WW1 aircraft as an adult. Although mine came out ok (I didn't rig it), I think it was nearly 2 years before I gave another one a try. Definately not recommended as an intro to WW1 aviation.

The 4 hands comment is dead on, most WW1 aircraft can be a handful, but that one is like wrestling a jellyfish.

Excellent work - I tried this kit in my teens and failed to get it together, so well done. I have an Eduard 1/72 in my stash .....

Hello Paul

Very nice build in this small scale  – that rigging is very imprersive

Welcome to Aeroscale. You did a wonderful build. It is to small for me to see without glasses, so I will never attempt 1/72 myself. But the skill you have shown us in this small scale just makes your build even more impressive. I hope to see you here on aeroscale much more in the future.

Sorry I´ve missed this lot of nice replies...I´m very busy..lots of models and figs to get going, finished etc.
I´m really glad you all like the plane...It nearly made me give up doing WWI planes for good...but the feeling of satisfaction I got when the rigging "tightened" it up was well worth it.
I can recommend it to anyone
Cheers
Paul
