Hi,

I don't often post here on Aeroscale but I follow many of the WW1 builds here with interest.
I've spent a few hours on an eduard Dual Combo Pfalz set (the most recent release) and would like to finish one of the machines as the rather natty red-fuselaged aircraft from Jasta 5. I'm sure I've seen one in the same finish here at some point! Having merrily slapped on some red paint I've realised I haven't a green that would be bright enough for the tail. Can anyone suggest a generally available acrylic paint that would do the job?

I've also realised too late that the decal sheet only provides one set of iron crosses and I've stupidly gone and set my heart on the two in-box schemes with iron crosses, I'll have to get hold of some at some point!

Unfortunately this little foray into Pfalzes has got me looking at colour schemes and now I want more, what an attractive aircraft!

Thanks in advance for any help with the paint,
keep up the good work here!
David

David,

Pop into any Warhammer shop, their Citadel paints are excellent and come in a nice variety of greens, just a matter of choice.

You can thin them with water for spraying but I use Tamiya X-20A thinners myself

And yes the Pfalz is a beautiful plane...but I'm an Albiholic

Hi David,

If you're going for a very green-green – I find Tamyias Park Green X28 to be about as bright as it can get. I then use a bit of chocklate brown (XF10) in this to get a shade I'm happy with.

Thanks for all the suggestions, and links to some gorgeous Pfalzes! I'll have to avoid the Tamiya paint as I've never managed to get it to work with brushes but I shall try and get hold of one of the others, I'll post some pics when I'm done, though it may be some time down the line.
Thanks again for the help,
David
