Hi Terri:

I know what you mean about the nice weather. It has been pretty decent here in Western Wisconsin as well as a robust band schedule, basement flooded, no modeling. I am actually looking forward (somewhat) to winter to get the house in order and model.
Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks Mark !

We really hadn't had much of a summer this year with the amount of bloody rain we have been getting so any chance I get I'm on the bike .

Made some progress on the engine this evening , exhaust pipes are in place which three of them I managed to lose over the course of year ......don't ask me how I did it but I did .

I made news using the steel tubing found in those ink refill kits for your printer . Valve springs I made by wrap fine steel wire around a # 80 drill bit .
And that's about far as I got so far with the engine ..........

Nice save on the pipes. Springs on an 80 bit? Yikes that's small.

Very nice, Terri! The engine is looking so delicately detailed- and I can't wait to see the final effect of the wing ribbing- cheers!

Hi Terri:

The engine is looking good, your additional work looks great and will certainly be an eye catcher when painted up and placed in the completed model. Looking forward to more.

Best

Hello there folks !

Top wing has been mounted , rigging is finished and touch ups done . Just have to do the flight controls and fix the prop in place and she will be finished .
Should be able to have this wrapped up over the weekend and pic's up .

I got her beat ! Finally was able to get my mojo back and finsih this build . Which is nice , the dead line is coming up here soon .

Wing tip support and float struts I ended up replacing them with plastic rod which is more in scale then the kit offerings which I broke a few while cleaning them up . Also was my first time using brass tubing for the turnbuckles . I must say that is far faster then using the q-tip method , am I hooked ? yup ! Also had a crack at using Mr. Metal Colour , here I must say a far better product then the testors and easier to use then Alclad .

For the glass in the windows on top of the fuselage decking I use micro Ksytal Klear which is still drying after a day and half and really isn't all that clear . I have had this stuff for over ten years and this is the second time I have used it so it could have gone bad .

Even though this kit has gotten some bad rep in regards to it's faults . It does build up into a nice looking model while leaving the door open for the detailers to go just nut's . Or build it OOB and have fun !

Beautiful build Terri.....

I love the color scheme, it really stands out compared to all the earth tones usually used. A very colorful aircraft in all the details, but then the colors make it come alive.

Brass for the turn buckles? I am shocked.... Well, not really, but they did turn out excellent. My main problem is getting consistent lengths but I am working on it. Yours look the part and really dress the bird up.

Will be most interested in what you decide to do next....

The red color really suits her.

You build a diorama with your M5?

Thank-you for the very kind comments my friends !

Bob , not sure what will be next on the bench . I still have to get going on the Pfalz Dr.1 for the GB on TGWITAF and then there is the build for Microsculpt web site . Between these two projects I will be doing a out of the box build . Nice little break from the detailing and scratch-building .

That is a good question Louis , never done a diaorama before and space plays a factor . Maybe one day in the future I will attempt this .

Hi Terri:

This is really an outstanding build. It is very colorful and looks great. Your use of brass, really a departure from your tried and true "Q-tip" method, is noteworthy.

Best
