Hi All
I've had the superb 1/32 WNW's biff for a few years now but I always wanted to do a really colourful one,cue "The Crocodile" set of decals from OH models..
Questions..
has anyone built one?
any reference photos of the real thing?
any photos of a built kit?
what decal system would work best on these decals?(Tamiya, microscale etc)
Cheers
Andy

The Ollie Holmes decals are printed by Fantasy Printshop, who also sell the decals directly. They don't give any advice on their web site it seems, and I've not used the RFC roundels I have printed by them yet, so I don't have any experience with them.
If there is some manufacturers text/logos on the transfer sheet that is also on top of carrier film (as there usually is), you could use these to test settling solutions on, though it may not be 100% representative of how the very large areas of the main transfers will behave.

Hi Andy,
I did see a build of a biff with these decals somewhere – I just can't remember where – but the guy seemed happy with the decals as far as I know.
If its Fantasy printshop that has printed the decals, you should have little trouble with them. Rowan of Pheon uses them as his printers – and they are of superb quality and very easy to handle. I used very small amounts of Micro sol and set when I worked with them.
Hope this helps you a bit.
Mikael

Only the 1:48 kit has been built here in the Crocodile scheme. Now the 1:32 has done in the Brisfish scheme by Lar Qvarfordt.

Andy I'm looking forward to your build and I'm interested to the Brisfit go together. On antother note, I just had a "Fee" late land here as well. I saw Mikael's beautiful build and ordered it I just hope I can do the rigging justice. I havn't even started most of my WWI kits because of that stringy stuff.

Is this the 1:32 build?
These Brisfish decals are also OH Models (in the thread it says Thunderbird models, but they are a reseller of OH decals). Looks like he had nothing but praise for them.

Hi Mikael
I went to the R.A.F museum at Hendon today and took some pics of the Fee they have, bloody brilliant.
I want to do something special with this kit as I think it deserves it
I want to do my Biff Crocodile first and then I will do the Fee.
Stay tuned
Andy

Andy I'm going to follow your build with interest as I have a 'Brisfit' waiting in the stash and will also pick up a 'Fee' late and RNAS Pup when I can.

Hey Ben
Nice link,I loved the Brisfish aswell, but two WNW's kits at £80 odd each and two sets of decals at £25 a pop is a tooooooooooo much! and as Mrs Torch and I have been married for 26 years, she's not daft on how much things cost in the world of plastic airplanes.
At the moment I'm 3 for 4 against with H.M.Customs with WNW's imports

Here is another very interesting 1/48 Crocodile, but not WNW, I hope you'll enjoy it

Hello Andy:
I too have had this on the shelf for some time. It seems a bit daunting, but; I am hoping to tackle it this winter along with some others, maybe even the Gotha this winter. I have viewed Larsa's work and will be following your build to see how you go about it. I have the Crocadile scheme as well and will be using that scheme when the time comes. Good luck and best wishes.
