Time to sum up this year. I aim for one model finished every other month which means six per year. I have yet to reach that number...

Just three finished this year, which is rather meagre even considering that this is me !

2012 started with a double-build, two absolutely excellent 1/144 Eduard kits delivered in one box.

An Egyptian one...

...and a Slovakian one... ...both has been blogged here.

And then the new Airfix Mustang built as a Swedish J 26.

Blogged here.

Shawn and Jessica! Glad you found the thread and posted, I was afraid it had felt through the net and nobody would continue posting!

Beautiful models and a productive year, best wishes to both of you (and all other Aeroscalers as well of course)!

By the way, Jessica, in my world that's far more than "a few"!

Well guys and gals; I didn't do any model building until the end of November!! I am ashamed. I did finish some kits that were started and also did some from the beginning in the last six weeks though. Happy New Year to everyone, hear are my entries. Russell

A 1/72 scale Spitfire MK IX, which happened to be my first review too on Aeroscale.

A Focke-Wulf 190A in 72 scale too.

A 72 scale North American F-100F Super Sabre, one of the first "modern" jets I've built in the last ten years.

A Lockheed 72 scale F-104C Starfighter.

A Hasegawa 72 scale Kyushu "Lightning".

A Focke-Wulf 190D from Academy with Italeri decals in 72 scale as well.

Something completely different, from Battlestar Galactica. A 1/32 scale, Moebius kit of the Viper MK II.

The last entry isn't really qualified for Aeroscale but what the heck!! Russell

Hi all,

best wishes and happy modelling for 2013!

2012 wasn't quite a productive year concerning scale modelling as other things not related to building models kept me quite busy.

However, I did a lot of work on my Airfix Canberra PR9 (1/72) and this beast is now being painted.

Although far past the deadline of the 1/144 campaign, I did finish Revells A-10 Thunderbolt 2. Building this model was quite fun as it involved adding +30 decals, which I think is quite a lot for this scale.

I built this airfield terminal building, which is the venue of practically everything else I am building.

Including the C-121

This C-124

and two Air Marshall Islands planes, a Grumman Greyhound What-if civilian version, and a HS-748, shown here while the terminal was still under construction.

Like Magnus, I finished two kits in 2012, only that each containted only one model. Also, I'm glad the wording of the topic is "finished," as only the other was both started and finish that year - the P-40M I started in early 2011...

Hasegawa's 1:48 scale P-40M, finished as the sole example of the type operated by the Finnish Air Force.

Eduard's 1:48 Fw 190 A-8, finally got around building it, I remember getting it right when it came out in 2006. The numerous stories I had read about the kit being tricky turned out to be true: the engine, gun compartment and canopy were a real struggle.

Considering I said I was taking a back seat with modelling as I was feeling low I actually got a fair few things done this year

Albatross for the Airfix Campaign

Eggplane 190 for the Eggplane campaign

109 for the Fighters campaign

P-51 for the Matchbox campaign

P-47 for the Pin Up 2 campaign

and some other off topic completed models

(did also do the Seil bust of Gone with the Wind but no pics and its still packed from the last model show it went to in November)

I admire how fast some of you work. Sadly I finished only two proper aircraft kits this year... and bought another ten or so
Both are in 1/48, the first is the P-39 from Hasegawa and the second is Airfixes new Bf-109E. I also trashed two other kits i had worked on, the B-25 from Airfix and Walrus from Matchbox. Only thing I regret was to start them in the first place. The time could be used for a differnet project.

Hi guys. A little late sorry:] To be honest it wasn't a productive year for me in modelwise, I don't think I actually finished and model...until new years eve...I may have not done much but I think I did the last: Revell 1/144 F-104G in Turkish markings some hand made...

Hi all!

Wow pretty impressive counts for some – and very high standards overall!

I had a pretty meagre year – only two finished models (I usually average about 4-5...) But they were both pretty demanding builds – lots of fun though:

And the second one:

They are both WNW kits in 1:32

All the best to everyone for modeling year of '13

Yes, her mathematics need some dusting off

My own modelling year wasn't very succesful unfortunately. I just finished a blackhawk and a Harrier (both 1/48). Renotvating a house is a time killer

Hi there

I think that sums it up perfectly for me - my New Year's resolution is to try to actually build something in 2013! Last year was a total washout due to sad events at home and a career-change.

So - here's to a fresh start, a blank slate, an empty workbench, and every other cliché we can come up with! Let's get building!

All the best

Happy 2013 (which seems to be the number of models built by Jessica, Sam, Russell, and Mikael -- if you include the rigging) everybody! Here's my eclectic mix:

Can you guess what campaign I am enrolled in?

(I admit that the farther away you are from these figures, the better they look -- like my wife sez about me!)

This operating dance floor (the completed model is in the form of a video in the review):

A Minitank half-track:

A 1/48 metal tractor:

Some nice Soviet track:

Grew some trees:

A diorama:

Tiny trashcans!

I went through the wringer for this wash set:

Of course, because none of these have wings, Russell [Siderius] doesn't think I built any models all year!
