Thank You so much Larsa my friend, much appreciated (Tackar så mycket)
Greetings everyone - I've been on some holiday with the family, hence the long silence. Southern France and Italy are very nice this time of the year
Anyway, the good news is that the D.VII builds were just about finished when I left, only some small touch-ups, and the final photographs. Stay tuned, will be back in a few days if all goes to plan!
Best Regards
Mikael

I've been kinda of distant, wrapped up in a PT boat build but man that's some lovely work, just as I expected of course. All tied together well by the finish. Love it Mikael.

Hello everybody,
Well, I am very happy to say that this build is now finished – it has been a blast, and I'm very happy to have a 1:32 DVII in my collection again. (my Battle Axe model was terminally crashed in a move, and has now been firmly put where it belongs – in the bin. (I kept all the bits in a zip lock until now, as I thought I just might repair it someday ).
The WNW kits are very much what the Battle Axe was not – however it was not just a walk in the park. Even though I had no problems in the final construction, there were some earlier stages where you really had to pay attention to what you were doing.
Anyway, I'm meandering – once the top wing slid into place, there were only some minor rigging and touch ups to do – so here she is Carl Degelows DVII mount of Jasta 40:
Here are a few shots of the early DVII I've been building in tandem –291/18 Ex Jasta 6, now Flieger abt A298 of Wzfw Meyer
As a matter of a fact this was the same plane I modeled with my old B.A. kit – this time its more accurate in many ways, and in a lot better shape.
The props were done trying a new technique using coloured pencils –pretty easy and something I'll use again for sure.
Guess this is pretty much it – Thank You to Stephen for staging the G.B., and Thank You to Taurus Models for the extra bits for the engine. And of course Thank You to all of you who commented and dropped in during the build.
All comments are as usual most welcome
Mikael

Beautiful work of art Mikael, congrats!
Hard to say wich model pleases me more, though the streaked fokker's camouflage is hard to top.
Can you explain a bit more about the coloured pencil used to achieve that wonderful prop?
Thanks
Cheers
pedro

Beautifully done Mikael, as always. I really like the streaked bird, and you really did a great job on what I assume is the Kit Lozenge? The "abuse" you inflicted on the latter one is perfect; looks like a real field worn Fokker!
Cheers,
Lance

Mikael, those are both true works of art. We need to put them on the front page where they can be appreciated.

Pedro, Diego, Stephen, Lance and Jessica – Thank You so very much for your high praise – coming from such fine modelers as yourselves it means a lot
@ Pedro – I'm really fond of the streaky Fokkers myself – they look more raw and "un-plolished" which I like The props are quite easy – but a bit hard to explain in words. I could perhaps do a thread on this a bit later on.
@ Stephen – Thank You – will do an upload in the gallery soonish!
@ Lance Yes, that is the kits Lozenge – it does take abuse quite well and under some filtering and texturing, it does look quite good I think.
@ Jessica – Absolutely – I'll put together a front page feature on the build in the near future. Thanks for asking!
Cheers everyone

If anyone has a part A16 (rear machine gun support) for the WGN kit of the Fokker DVII (OAW) I would be glad to purchase same. I totally destroyed mine removing it from the Sprue and the other ones for the other variants are not the right height.
Thanks

Speechless. Now I must learn to use words sparingly.

It's just perfect. I'd say museum quality but the things they have in museums don't measure up to this.
This is the build that has inspired me to try a WWI subject... Which will almost certainly turn into an ugly debacle.
