Now that is a bit on the long side! How do both kits compare with accurate scale drawings though?
The Airfix MiG-15 'GTI edition' does look a better jet, the 15 always looked way to stubby to me to. The Hobbyboss looks to be a safer bet in the long run though.

I think I may have found the ultimate Airfix II build. I was fondling plastic in my stash while I was watching the footy and was having a look at my 1/12 Airfix Blower Bentley and was wondering why it was so heavy. It is a large box etc with a spare electric motor and a tube of Airfix cement, and then I looked in one of the compartments and found a set of Airfix paints! How good is that, I will be able to build an Airfix kit with Airfix glue and Airfix paints, providing the paints are still OK that is..
Fingers crossed!
Cheers all

I am in with the 1/48 scale Hurricane, which if I read correctly was issued originally in 1979, and I have the 2005 re-boxing of the kit.

I remember it fondly, and by all accounts it's more accurate and easier to build than the Hasegawa kit.

Yes, that easily counts; its first issue was 1976 and that's the one that matters. It'll be good to see it built

Complete with wing glove vanes that moved with the wings!

I remember saving my pennies for quite a while to buy that one.

Awesome. I'm a big fan of the F14 and this should be fun.

Now that the official thread is up and running, I've asked Allen to lock this one.
