I did that one about 20-odd years ago. It's only accurate for the prototype and the plastic is horribly brittle. It's very basic kit, average to poor fit, no interior at all and the decals were a beast 20 years ago so by now the ones in your kit are likely fired. But if you approach it knowing all that it's a buildable model.
Jessie, thank you for the advice. I want to do the prototype depicted on the box. I may try copying the decals and printing some new ones. I think it might be a good idea to paint the interior flat black since there is no detail.
I like the straight wings for a jet airliner. I also like the Soviet era flag and Aeroflot name with the blue and white.

Here's a
build review. I think that the nose profile is dreadful; the nose below the windscreen is much too fat which makes the slope of the nose below the windscreen almost flat. Compare to
this one.
Also the rivets are large enough that you can use the parts to file down your other models.
When once you have tasted flight you will walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward.
For there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Jessie, I see what you mean by the nose profile. I read the review and it is an unusual subject. The kit I have came with two sets of decals depicting the 2nd of the first five prototypes.

If I were ever to do it again I'd fill the nose with Milliput and grind it down to something more near to the correct profile.

I'm always up for something Russian. I have a respectable selection of Yaks to choose from, but being a closet masochist, I may just have to pull-out an Amodel Yak-28. There's something about ill-fitting eastern European kits with natural metal finishes that just calls to me...

I'd like to build one of these
But I'm guessing another awful kit, plastic nightmares...

Do my eyes deceive me or is there a pilot shown in the box art for the amodel yak-25rv "target drone"? Perhaps the Soviets were as caring about their personnel as the cold war propaganda suggested!
This sounds like a campaign I can get into but Ill wait to see how life is around kickoff time before I enlist. Ive got 3 qualifying kits;
Hasegawa 1/72 Yak-3
Eduard 1/48 Yak-3
AM 1/48 Yak-1 with ski's

Here's how it looks at ribbon size. The star may need to be a bit larger.

Jessie, my pleasure. I've completed more campaign ribbons this year than kits.

Does anyone do a late Yak-9 in 1/48th suitable to model a North Korean Yak-9P from the Korean War ? All I have found so far on evilbay are early models with the wooden wings / fabric fuse.
If I can locate a suitable one, I'll join the campaign .

There's apparently a resin kit (or perhaps that's 'was').
Here's a look at it and
here's another. The kit was released in 2007/2008 so I don't know whether it's still available.

Thanks for the info, I have now a search set up on evilbay and 6 months to find one !
