Any thoughts on the Hasegawa T-2 or F-1? How are the decals on the Blue Impulse T-2?

In 1/72 or 1/48?
The 1/72 kits are quite old and basic, the 1/48 kits are much more modern and typical Hasegawa. I don't have experience of their Blue Impulse decals.

Platz did, but its long OOP. You may be able to find it on eBay though, or ask around in the Buy+Sell sections. Or, you could do what I saw one guy do at the UK Nationals and hand paint it!!!!

Neil, hand painted, impressive; I'll bet one of the lining pens came in handy!

I should clarify, it wasn't me, I saw it done by someone else. I did have a picture of it, but I can't find it on my HD

Neil, I was speculating on an approach to do the drawing using a model railway type lining pen for coaches. It certainly makes me consider doing the kit if I can either get a scan of the decals or scan of the drawing. Hmm.

Neil, your photo at the beginning of this proposed campaign started me down this pathway. I found this at my LHS while looking at the JASDF T-2, F-1, and F-2. Turns out it was exactly what I wanted.

Here is a proposed ribbon for The Land of the Rising Sun Campaign.

Thanks Brett, that's awesome! Does it scale down OK?
Someone did suggest a "rising sun" one, but that was used for the Rumble in the East Asian Sky campaign a while back.

Neil, I drew it at 500 by 200 and campaign ribbons are 50 by 20. Here it is scaled down.

Brent, thats a fine idea and well drawn. Easy to read when its larger, but scaled down it does loose its impact. This is always an issue in the small world.

Neil, Ben and everyone, I'll play around with the design a little. I'll post what I've come up with in a day or two.

Everyone, I cleaned up the ribbon design to make it more crisp.

The obvious is pretty striking and scales down well:
a bit more WWII oriented, but it *is* the "rising sun" flag.

Thanks Vance, but as I mentioned earlier, its too similar to the Rumble in the East Asian Sky ribbon.

Hello,
I have enlisted for this campaign. I normally build WWII aircraft, but for this one i want to do something different.
So if anyone can recommend me a good quarter scale kit of either the F-4 F-14 F-15 F-16 or F-18 that would be great.

Hasegawa for all of the above. However, there's a Phabulous Phantom that was just released by Academy which is miles better than the Hasegawa

Jessica,
thanks for the quick answer.
I will look up some reviews then.
Many thanks
