I can see this becoming a very good campaign.
I recently picked up an unboxed Matchbox Dornier Do18 which I think I'll build. It looks to be a good kit.
On the bench: 1/72 Mosquito, Lightning F.6, DH.2,
AMT Vulcan Shuttle Surak.
Cyber-Hobby 1:35 Sherman Firefly IC - still stalled.

I may attempt a CL 415 or (another) Savoia S. 21 to replace my first one from the Porco Rosso campaign.

Hi there
Something tells me this may be my entry:
A sample just arrived today, and it looks an exquisite kit!
All the best

I think I have to do this one.

The wings very cleverly interlock. I just might leave them unglued...

Terri, I did the same thing when i did my Memphis Belle. It's the only way I can get into a reasonable storage container.

Hi Danial,
Expensive is relative I guess. In this part of the world this is no more expensive than Tamiya or Trumpeter 1/32 plane. The way I figure it I will only build one, it's unusual and will be a challenge for me.
cheers
Michael

Hi Michael will it be the spotter Walrus from HMNZS Achilles? I did have a Classic Airframes version to build until it sacrificed itself for the greater good so I could buy a 1/48 scale Canberra.

Hi Chris,
That is the intention though I am having some trouble nailing down a colour scheme. I am building HMS Achilles (as it was then part of the NZ division) for the Battle of Atlantic campaign - The Early Years and I thought they would make a good combination. I am assuming that the Walrus would be in Fleet Air Arm colours but I haven't found out either way yet. All info welcome when I get started.
Cheers
Michael

Hi Michael you're correct during the war they were painted in fleet air arm colours prior to the war they were silver dope. Not to sure of an exact timeline as I've seen pics of them late in the war in silver dope.
I believe this to be HMNZS Leander

Sad news reported over on ArmOramA, earlier this month Snori23 has passed away, we will leave his enlistment on this campaign out of respect.

I've changed my mind a bit, and I plan to build something a little unusual, providing there are no objections. It could be argued that technically it isn't an aeroplane, but I would equally argue that it isn't a boat either. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you..... The Ekranoplan!

Opinions?

Richard, I need a clarification before we start. I just re-read the campaign rules, and I couldn't see anything about "What Ifs". I'm not talking about slapping a set of floats on an aircraft that never had them, I'm talking about finishing the Ekranoplan in civil airline colours. I looked at a few build logs online, and I saw an Ekranoplan in Virgin Atlantic livery, which gave me the idea. Then I saw the supplied decals with the kit, and they're a little uninspiring.
What do you think?

Hi Lee
I will amend rules to allow "What If" decals to be used.
