I did not find any photos of a P-47 with the under wing rocket tubes, but while surfing I found this nice photo of an Eurofighter loaded down for Bear:

Well, I'm sure it didn't make the takeoff distance noticeably longer. I suspect that it made turning a bit dicier.
I would bet they are a real drag...

@Robert (Beauslx) you are correct the Grumman F14 slipped through when Mark and I were producing the list. It will be added to the list ASAP.

I represent that!
It was already in there.
If I'd been a bit fussier I might have limited it to the B & D, Bomb Cats, but it looks like all marks got made into bombers after Desert Storm. So you're good to go.
Bob, if you don't stop me I'll set up a Google spread sheet to track our campaigners and builds.

Mark that sounds good to me re: the spreadsheet as for the F14 I added it in after noticing that it had not been included and Michaeal instructed me on how to accomplish that task.
On another note I have been viewing videos and may choose either the Hawker Hunter or the De Halviland Vampire for my builds, but there is plenty of time yet.

OK, the Spread sheet was easy enough. Everyone should be able to see it. I'll add now enlistees, subjects and updates as needed. Fighter-Bomber Campaign
I remember talking about adding the F-14 B & D, but missed it on the review.....

I wonder what kept the rockets from sliding in the tubes or out of them altogether?

I ASSUME that they were attached to some sort of detonator / imitator. I guess that held them in place until the pilot hit the button.

I would like to be involved in this campaign. I assume a F4 Phantom would apply or maybe a Me262 with bombs?

Bob,
I am wondering if the Dornier 335 Pfeil meets the description?
It was design from it's beggining as a fast interceptor with the ability to carry some payload in an internal bay.
Alternatly I may enlist with a P-47
Cheers

Good question. Wiki claims that when the factory was overun in April 1945 that there were 11 Do 335 A-1 fighter bombers completed. The intention was there, but I can't tell if any flew in anger. I'm inclined to say OK, but I'll let Bob have the final word.

I'm thinking maybe a F4U Corsair on a F105 Thud. Either way , I'm definitely in.

I will choose from these:
A Su-7 from Kopro,
A Su-17 from EE
Or the Trumpeter's F-105
So many kits to finish but I'm eager to start this one ...

@ John: if you do not build the F105 just send it to me it is one of my favorite a/c.
@ Pedro: Mark has researched your a/c and has stated yes so the Dornier 335 Pfeil.
@ Frank: welcome to the far away fighter/bomber campaign and your choices are square on in my opinion.
