The CAC Boomerang was out of stock so I went with another a/c. Revell's 1/48 F-84G and it should arrive soon, now only to pick out a camo schemed fighter/bomber. I am not much on natural finished a/c.

ROB, I have tried to upload the ribbon to the campaign page without success. So I will seek help to see if its me or another issue.
Again thanks for the beautiful ribbon.

Is the voodoo not missing from the list of permitted planes?

I'm in with either a Saab Draken or an F-14. Seems like every time a Tomcat campaign pops up I'm MIA, so this might be a good chance to get her built.

I am not sure that it fits the criteria of a fighter / bomber. Did the F101 have any bomb racks? If I remember correctly it was designed for long range escort and found its niche in photo/recon.

Hi Y'all:
I'm sure that even more will be suggested as we get closer to the kickoff. But here's a couple that should be on your list.
We can all thank Uncle Adolf that this awesome plane was delayed for a very long time when, after seeing the originals he asked if it could carry bombs.
And this one too.
The Aardvark WAS originally designed as a fighter, thus the "F" designator. But the U.S. Navy bailed on it as it was just to heavy with the heavier landing gear needed for carrier ops. And the U.S. Air Force took it and almost immediately turned it into an attack aircraft. But unlike the mosquito which was from the very outset designed as a pure bomber, the F-111 was a fighter first.

I thought it was originally designed to drop nuclear bombs deep inside enemy territory (seems logical, who on earth would like to drop a nuke on his own territory :-) )

I cant wait for the start. I have my 1/48 scale Classic Airframes F5A kit waiting to be built. I think I will build the Canadian version of the F5A Freedom Fighter the CF116 license built by Canadair

Drab: after taking a look at what/how Wikipedia describes the F-101 (Initially designed by McDonnell Aircraft as a long-range bomber escort (known as a penetration fighter) for the Strategic Air Command (SAC), the Voodoo was instead developed as a nuclear-armed fighter-bomber for the Tactical Air Command (TAC), and as a photo reconnaissance aircraft based on the same airframe.) Yep! its a yes on the F-101.

Yes, back in the 50's and 60's if you couldn't carry nukes, you couldn't get funding.

Mind if I jump on the band wagon too?
I was thinking of a 1:48 P47 Razorback I have in the stash
I also have a P38 lightening in the same scale too, and maybe a Messerschmit 109 and a Hawker Typhoon somewhere, not sure what scale those two are or even whether or not I have any appropriate bomb loads for them.
Either way the lightening and the Razorback are the front runners atm because I know I have loads for them.
Cheers, Simon

On a side note, would the Harrier GR3 and the A7A Corsair II count? I think I have those kicking around somewhere in the stash too, just working from memory here, and I am not sure how capable those two were in an air to air capacity
Cheers

Welcome aboard Simon, yes on both the P-47 and Harrier GR3. As for the ribbon I have been taking instruction on Paint and will have something to add for a vote, but when I tried to upload Rob's ribbon I ran into a problem.
BTW! what is the acceptable size for the ribbon?

I have been looking for the article on how to make campaign ribbons, but have not found it yet. Could anyone point me in the correct direction please.

Bob,
The ribbon has to be 50x20 pixels, if you copy my ribbon to your computer you should be able to upload it from there. Here is a thread on making them:

Rob, this was just an experiment so if anyone has more suggestions or a ribbon or two go ahead and post them to see what the others think.
