The problem I see is that the plug with or without the pin is the wrong length so once the engine is finished I will have to work out the spacing to install it correctly. I do not know why there is not some sort of explanation of how it is supposed to go together in the instructions.
Cheers Rob.

Rob,
Just fantastic progress now. I'm fully confident that you'll make it to the finish line with some time to spare.
The wheel wells are really sky. They look quite good. And the engine is coming alone nicely. I will have to admit that the PE wiring harness does look better then I thought it would, and it's certainly a lot quicker process then making and installing one wire at a time.
Have you test fitted the engine yet to see if it correctly fits with the cowl? Did you take Matt's suggestion about installation?
The pin wash really adds tremendously to the overall look of the aircraft.

Well done Richard!
Looking good Cam!
I have had some up's and down's
I had to drill through the engine with a drill press in order to get the hole in the back in the right spot I also had to make a new prop shaft by grinding down part of a plastic rod chucked in my dremel as the size of the post on the resin bit is not the same as the hole for the prop. I then had to cut the front projection on the firewall in order to fit the resin bit in. I have no idea why they made it this way and left the figuring out to the modeler. With that done I finished painting the engine added the PE parts and a little grime. I finished painting and decaling the prop and painted the landing light chrome, that is where I ran into a problem while masking the light the tape took the roundel with it luckily I have some as I picked up the British roundel set for Spitfire's from Eduard however I have misplaced the canopy.
Cheers Rob.

It came out well! Marcin.
I replaced the roundel under the wing and painted the canopy all the clear bits have been tinted, although I dropped a small green lens This is where it stands now. Because of work I will not be able to get the last little bits done till the 1st.
Cheers Rob.

Wow some great entries here. Unfortunately I haven't had enough time to update my blog but work has continued here and there on my Tomcat.
Sadly it won't be finished in time for the campaign as I could have done with an extra couple of weeks but it will be finished in my blog. Here's the stage it was up to last night and ready for the decalling to start tonight.

Allen,
I was wondering what happened to your build, as you were our only F-14 build. Glad to hear that you're ok, just have been busy with other things.
Have a happy and healthy New Years.

Rob,
Your Hellcat is 99% complete. Please post 2 pictures in the Gallery section so I can award you a ribbon. Just finish it up with the few little bits when you have the time.

Rob,
Good enough. You did a great job.
Jonathan, thanks for catching that. If the pictures don't show up and it says successful, it usually means that Pedro tried to upload pictures larger then 1024x768. That use to happen to me all the time. I'll PM Pedro and let him know.
