Fantastic result, Joel!
In the end all your extra paid off. I like that restrained weathering. The Academy P-38 sure is no easy "add glue and shake" kit, but with a little TLC it turns into a great model of one of the most beautiful aircrafts ever built. Congrats on that.
Btw, what machine of Bong are you planning to build? I have here only decals for his "Yellow 42"

Torsten,,

Thank you for your most enthusiastic approval of the P-38. You were certainly right that the kit is no shake in the box build, but with work, it does build up into a very nice replica.

I was hoping that when I do my next P-38, I would replicate one of Major Bong's aircraft. For now my only requirement is that it's in the Olive Drab/Neutral gray scheme. One NMF P-38 is more then enough for this old timer.

Fred,
Thank you for appreciating my efforts. The rods were really easy to do, and added some much needed detail to the glycol cooler doors.

Hi Joel,
WOW! What a great build absolutely enjoyed reading it in 1 go.

I've finally got regular Internet thanks to my landlords new tenant.
He's letting me piggyback onto his broadband,at no charge.
Although I'll flick him a few bucks every month until I find work . unemployment and marital splits sux.

Looking forward to your next build.

Cheers

Dinuka,
Thanks.

The kit is truly impressive. I just hope I can do it justice with my modest skills.
