@ Mark - The P-59 looks pretty decent altogether, but there's not much to compare it to since I haven't seen many other kits of the same subject. Thinking about building mine in operational USAAF colors with invasion stripes, for no good reason.
@Gonzalo - Thanks for the compliment!

My Tamiya Silver rattle can arrived yesterday, so I now will be able to start painting my Vampire.

I plan on applying a coat of Future over the silver before painting the top camouflage of Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey. I have been trying to locate some frisket paper to no avail, I do not wish to use tape. Does anyone know of an online supplier?

Try Michaels or Dick Blick Art Supplies. They might have retail outlets near you. You might also check Badger (the airbrush people) IIRC they sell paints and other supplies.

Starting photo of the E28/39. Just got to put the decals on Revell's 1/32 Hawk and I'll make a start.

Well! I now have to sand the clear acrylic spray that I thought would protect the silver from handling and tape. After I reapply the silver I will airbrush on some future, that is what I get for thinking I am smart.

WIP shots of the E28/39. Still needs a bit of work on the seam behind the cockpit. This is definitely a limited-run kit - taken ages to get it that good!
OMG - just realised it's in dark grey plastic and has to be painted yellow underneath........

Dave, for a limit run kit you have done a nice job. Good luck on the yellow.

1/48 Hobby Boss F-80A as Project Extraversion
I stalled out a bit on this kit after finishing Eduard's P-39 for the Overshadowed Fighters. The more work I have done on it, the more issues it keeps throwing my way. I am not going to waste time getting into the details, but this kit is a disappointment to me. If not for the fact that I want to finish the campaign, this kit would be shelved indefinitely. My latest issue:
Somehow I didn't notice the step on each tailplane during dry fitting. I have tried to fix them with some thick CA and a lot of sanding, but its not pretty. All of the kit's shape issues and the fit problems have begun to snowball into a mess. I'm going to push on but she won't be getting a place in the front of my display cabinet any time soon.

I love the meatbox, so I'm looking forward to seeing progress on that one. I've been after a Tamiya Mk3 for ages but they are starting to fetch silly money now.
Should get the first coat (at least) of yellow on the E28/39 today.

Did I say 1st coat of yellow? Humbrol acrylic 24 went on like a dream, 2 coats and done. Ocean grey and dark green, one coat each. Decals were good for a limited run kit, artists acrylic matt varnish and done!

@Jose: I like what you have done to the office.
@Lap Man: the Meteor F.1 looks like a straight forward build I see no seams nice job.

John: two question for you re: the Vampire construction?
1. the process you used on the canopy attachment and what did you use to mask?
2. did you use oils to bring out the panel lines?
Bob
