Hi all,
I participate this campaign with the Soviet MiG-9 kit made from "Skarabey" branch (Russian). Maybe it's short-runned tech, previous century.
Regards,
K.

Started work on my 262. The kit is pretty good with nice recessed panel lines and good fit. The only blot on the sheet is the canopy. It is a piece of crap. It's too thick, about a mm too short in length and lacking details. So I tried to salvage it a bit using aluminium tape. Hope to finish it in the next couple of days.
Dry Fit
Drilled out the wheel wells
Canopy Surgery
Wings glued on. I dryfitted the landing gear to check if i got the nose weight correct. Look like she won't be a tail sitter

1/48 Hobby Boss F-80A as Project Extraversion
I have gotten most of the paint work done on my YP-80. I need to mask off the wing walks and shoot those with Tamiya NATO Black, then I want to deepen a few panel lines before I coat her in Future for decals. I am still not thrilled with this kit, but it's coming towards the end now.
I used Model Master Aircraft Grey for the finish. Early P-80's were painted in all over Pearl Grey, Aircraft Grey is supposed to be a close match for it since no one manufactures that exact color. All of the red trim was masked and painted using Tamiya XF-7 Red.

I guess I'll go first. Been waiting for this one to kick off fo a while now, ready to get started. Using the Czech Model 1/48 North American FJ-1 Fury along with Area 53 decals.
If I had the time this is the one I'd be building. Will follow with interest.

Letter code and wing walks masked off and painted, then the clear coating with Future started. I didn't have any black letter code decals, only white, so I applied it to a large square of Tamiya tape and cut myself a mask using the white A as a guide. I am happy with how well it came out. I should be able to start decals next week after the Future cures for a day or two. It's going to be close but I should finish in time.

Hallo Raj,
outstanding mottling onto the flanks of the 262. How did You reach such a fine mottling? Masking and overspraying?

Great job on the 262, Raj. As Oliver asks - how did you do the mottling?

Oliver & Jesper
Thank you for your kind words.
I used a mask for the mottling and the culprit can be seen on the lower right corner in the last photograph. It's made by Airwaves and i picked it up from Hannants.

Well its finished, this is my second aircraft in about 4 years and my third bare metal finish ever. I am happy with the finish but not the the canopy. I lost the original one. I guess that's what happens when things are in the stash too long. The vacu form replacement was not symmetrical and the fit was poor to say the least. It was a learning experience and more planes will follow.

Thanks Rich, It was a trying build. I think I touched up the silver at least 4 times. My decals solvent was too strong and my first choice of decals melted. I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did. My next plane will be gull gray.
