Ask and ye shall receive:
This campaign has been APPROVED! It will run from July 1 to December 31, 2015. Now you just need a ribbon.
You can go here to sign up.
Given my interest in Israeli aircraft as well as lend-lease stuff, I may very well end up joining myself if I have time. I sure look forward to the great models!

So I have the acadamy kit. I am looking to upgrade it with a detail kit. For instance the one I have has 5 roters. The asw version is a four rotor main. I have looked all over and cant find an upgrade kit. Anyone have any leads at all on one??? Thanks!

Nice work! Personally, I think the first one is slightly more interesting. If you would like to attach it to the campaign page, go for it!
Big thanks to Michael for approving this so quickly - it should make all the difference, the fact that there's only a 6 month wait, rather than over a year until we can start.

I agree the first one is a bit better. Unfortunately I don't think the system gives Jonathan the ability to add the ribbon, only Lee as Campaign Leader or I have the system authority. Jonathan, if you can send the graphic as a .gif file to Lee or I in a PM, we can add it. Thanks for the design!

Lee, (or Michael) you can right click on the image you like, "copy image location", then paste in the upload image box.
I fiddled around with the first version a bit here are some more versions.
they are all gif files and hosted here in our gallery.

Which scale are you working in? There are Supergrapes with 4 blade main rotors in all major modelling scales, although some are more difficult to find than others.
1/72 Italeri;
1/48 AMP;
1/32 Revell
1/35 Dragon
Right now it seems that only the Italeri kit is currently being produced, so you may need to stalk the other ones on Evil-Bay or at swap meets.

Nice choice Jonathan. I'm also thinking of doing the Sherpa's more aerodynamically challenged older sister, the Skyvan in Omani markings. Recently read a book called Storm Front about the Omani War of the early 70's and it really got me thinking about building one. I might even complete it as one of the 'bombers' used to drop home made napalm on the guerrillas. In short they were petrol drums filled with a mixture of avgas, washing powder and polystyrene. Rolled into the back of the Skyvan, they then had an empty jam jar strapped to the side into which a phosphorous flare was stuck. When they flew over the target, the pins on the flares were pulled and then simply rolled out the back. Hardly precision bombing, but apparently effective.
Thoroughly recommend the book, filled full of interesting stories and characters who went over to fight for the Sultanate.

It is awesome isnt it. It's a Pilatus PC-6 "Porter"
there's a Roden kit in 1/48
Pilatus is a Swiss company, but PC-6s were also license built in the US by Fairchild.
Among the many interesting operators of PC-6s was Continental Airlines (CASI), in Laos in the early 1970s.

Just enlisted due to my love of alternate markings for aircraft. I've got a 1/48 Mustang B, Mustang D, P-47D Razorback and a 1/72 P-61 Black Widow I can use for it.. must decide what country to sign one up for.

Bear in mind the rules of this campaign require an actual real life operator. The P-61 at least will have to wait for another day, though it definately deserves an alternate treatment.
By the way, have you seen Clave's profiles? If not set aside an hour or two...

I can usually manage to design and print reasonable decals. I'm in process of building every aircraft Air Marshall Islands operated (and a few they never did)

I am in for this one. Since Denmark does not make aircraft - with the exception of some parts for the joint strike fighter - I am left with the option of planes flown by RDAF.
Some F-16s, Star figther, F-100, and some older types. I will find something that fits my taste

This one for me
Built in Seville (at least the final construction) and in service with German, French and British AF
It's no easy to find a model of a Spanish made airplane in foreign service, in a fast overview.
- The CASA (now Airbus Military) C212/C235/C295 transports have been forgotten by the plastic makers
- The CASA C101 trainer is in use in Chile
- The Saeta was used by Egypt (but built locally)
- What about a Buchon or CASA 2111 (He111) in "Battle of Britain" film markings??
The other way round is easiers as, sadly, most of our AF planes have been made in foreign countries

A Buchon would be fine by me, funnily enough I was watching the documentaries on the second disc of the Battle of Britain movie DVD earlier today, and I saw a pair of Buchons at an airshow last year:
...or you could do a Matador! I do love Harriers it has to be said. Seriously, what ever you want to do will be fine.

Yeah, I realized the Black Widow wouldn't work when I couldn't identify any other operators of it. So P-51 or P-47 it is. Right now I'm maybe looking at an Italian P-51D (postwar) or possibly a Portuguese Thunderbolt, though it appears razorbacks weren't operated by Portugal..
