I am starting a build of the New/Old UH-1B in 1/24th scale, just going to do some detailing here and there to make a nice Huey.

starting with the figures, first I sculpted the visor of the helmet in the down position. Then the helmet will be hollowed out and a new head will be sculpted to fill it.

I did a little bit on the figure of the pilot, rolled sleeves and a more accentuated collar.

the kit comes with some pretty good M-60's for the quad XM-6 gun system, so I modified one of them to make hand held M-60's for the door gunners.

progress on the interior, the kit is an old one and some of the parts are showing that age, but it is still pretty good. I am modifying the bench seat in the back as it will be so easily seen thru the large cabin doors, I scraped off the seat belts and used some tube to make the frame and added some brace tubes to the bottom, I will cover it with tissue to represent the canvas seat next

IP and center section instruments and controls on the kit are a bit sparse so I redid them.

Looking good so far. It will be interesting to see what you do with this old dog of a kit.

by the way before you say it, I know that the pilot of a helicopter sits in the right seat, just using the left seat to get it all lined up because it is easier to get at everything.

Looking good. Don't worry about which seat is flying the helo. As you know, either pilot can fly it, so no worries.

thanks Gino I knew you would have my back, in fact I have never flown a help from the right seat. Always left for us mechanics.
