Great that you are stepping up to the plate once again, Damian.
I am in as well. Maybe a Me 262, M 110 or something completely different.
Looking forward to it.

Okay, I signed up. I promise, scout's honor!, not to sign up to any other campaigns for the beginning of 2016, so I can succeed here! ...but I love all the campaigns! (My apologies to the MRAP Campaign and others that I've recently dropped out of.)

Jesper, always a pleasure to have you on board my friend! I'm looking forward to watching whatever it is you decide to mangle this time around.
Sean, good luck with that ! Folks here just have too many awesome ideas for Campaigns, we are like moths to the flame mate.
6 enlisted, we are on our way.
Cheers, D

I joined up as well
Still undecided between an Bf110 and a P 38 Lightning. Any suggestions?

Sam and Raj, thanks for joining in.
There are already 2 Campaigns which will have plenty of P-38 action (Fork Tailed Devils and Thunder and Lightning) so I would go for the 110.
Cheers, D

Bump time.
I am hoping to see some uncommon types built this time around. Thinking 210, 410, 219, Ta154, Anson, Wellington, Manchester, Baltimore, Marauder, Tu-2, . . . . .
Cheers, D

Chris, it's waaaaay out there mate, I really should have qualified my previous post using yours as a benchmark. You have my sincere apologies.
Everybody else, he's from New Zealand. Kiwis are born with a keen competitive attitude towards anything Aussie, so in the interest of harmony in the discussion thread we will all just defer to Chris as having the most out-there build for this Campaign.
Now, please don't take my previous post the wrong way. I just read through the thread again and realised that it didn't come across exactly how it was intended. I want to see the stalwart workhorse twins just as much as the rarer types. There is just such a huge range available to us.
Cheers, D

Funnily enough D I have most of those kits in the stash .... uh in fact I have 5 of the Ta154 in 1/48 in various guises both Promodeler and Revell. (can anybody guess that I like the Ta154?) The only thing missing is the Me210 .... anybody know of a 1/48 scale kit of one?

Is Dornier Do 215 less-than-usual enuff?

Isn't it such an individual thing how a particular type just grabs you? For me it's the P-61. I have 6 of the 1/48 Revellogram boxings and a couple of 1/72 Dragon kits. I am constantly on the lookout for both of the GWH variants in 1/48 and also the 1/32 HB kit if the price is right. Not to mention whatever AM goodies I run across in clearance bins.

Hi Damian,
I have the ICM Do-215B-4 in 1/72 scale in my small but growing stash. I'd love to build something in big scale, but I just have no space.
Gary

Hallo D, and all others,
concerning uncommon types, what is the Fairey Gannet? Two props, but I think just one engine?!? I am confused, but just like salvador dali said “You have to systematically create confusion, it sets creativity free. "

Hi Oliver.
The Gannet is a unique twin-engine design in that it has two engines mounted side-by-side in one fuselage driving two contra-rotating props. In that regard it would qualify, but unfortunately it didn't make its maiden flight until 1949, so it fails on the "active in WWII" rule.

Hey Gary I have the Revell Do217E-4 in 1/48 scale in the stash and it's a great kit. Lot's of lovely detail right out of the box, but ICM produce a 1/48 scale version of the Do215. There's quite a few on eBay starting at around $62 dollars(NZ) including shipping. Ohhhhh and look Aeroscale just happen to have a review of it
LOL uhmmmmm why do I want to buy one now? Can any one say plastic addiction?? I really do like the lines of the Luftwaffe twins!
PS just seen the ICM 1/48 Do17-Z10 nightfighter ........ I want ....... SEVERAL!

Hey Chris,
My problem isn't money it's display space. Between the wife's cat, and our three large tail waggers, I'm limited to shelves high enough or enclosed in glass that won't fit much bigger than a 30cm wingspan.
There's a whole host of kits that I want but can't display.
Thanks, though,
Gary

I feel you buddy..... I have no display space what so ever for the kits I build unless I desperately want to keep it simply gets sold on the local auction site. That's what happened to my last two builds on aeroscale. I'll never get back what I've invested in them in terms of time or aftermarket parts but I can usually recover 2/3 to 3/4 of the cost of the kit and that goes back into the model fund for later. Unless of course you can get two bidders into a bidding war and then I've actually managed to just about cover my costs LOL.

Ok folks, we are officially official! Ten enlisted to this point, now it's time to start posting some images of aircraft and kits and ramp it up heading to the start date.

3. Hangar Queens are welcome (subject to approval by Campaign Admin), because they belong on the shelf, not hidden away in a box!
Under that rule I'd participate. I have my 1:48 Accurate Miniatures B-25D I was converting to a PBJ-1D. The fuselage interior work is finished but I haven't closed it up or done anything with the exterior yet.
