Hi have a question before I actually click the enlist button.

Rules state Sci-fi is allowed, does this also count for anime? I have a Hasegawa VF-0S Macross Zero. While in the anime it transforms from aircraft to mech, this kit is non transforming, aircraft mode only model.

Andrew, as long as it is already a started project collecting dust in the shelf go ahead!

A little update. I thought I would start the arduous task of masking the canopy (and turret) on my FAA Avenger (was my entry in the FAA Campaign a few years ago). I have gathered the tools - Check, got a fresh beer - Check and a (not so fine) Cigar - Check. I am using masks for a Hasegawa Avenger on a old Frog Avenger. I see that I might need to do a little 'tweeking' of the masks to make them fit. At least in my mind it is much better then just trying to mask with a roll of tape. But no worry, I will not let procrastination take me over - you just wait and see...

I'm not formally enrolling yet because I have those two Zeros on the bench still, but I was already thinking that I should finish

1) My MDC 1/32nd Typhoon (stopped due to fit issues)

2) 1/48th Defiant (Didn't have the skill level to finish it, but I started it so you can thank me for the Airfix release).

Well this did not go well, I am afraid to say my in progress build of a Frog FAA Avenger took a turn for the worse (more like a dive). In my last post I was starting to mask up that long canopy and turret. I thought it would be a good idea to move this from the stuffy modeling/man cave to the patio outside. So this past weekend it was going to be overcast and a little rainy. Now for some of you that might seem odd for good weather to do some modeling outdoors however here in Arizona (think of Alaska in reverse) it felt like a nice time to spend outside before the summer ovens kick in and it will be too hot to do anything outside. Long story short - like your young kids, do not ever leave them unattended not for a second. I needed a fresh adult beverage so I thought I would just pop in and solve that issue. When I returned I found my little table (tv dinner table) knocked over and my WIP avenger parts scattered all into the gravel yard (yes gravel is the preferred medium down here over grass though I don't think it would of made a difference). The cause, 2 energetic Siberian Huskies who also enjoy similar weather. Recovery was fruitless. Moving on, I still have plenty of other 'Hanger Queens' to work on and I hopefully learned something from this.

FYI, I haven't forgotten about them, it's just been very hectic. The wings are on both and the thread will be updated soon

My entry for this GB will be an Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel F.1. Too bad the updated Hobbycraft Camels are OOP.

Other than the fact that I really wanted to add a 1/32 kit to my collection, I would not have bought this kit. It is just this side of awful. In short - inaccuracies abound, which is why this build stalled.

I have tried to correct as much as my patience would allow, and still have a lot to do, including sanding down the ribs on the upper wing and tail.

But, I did want a Camel in my collection, so I will press on. In the end, I hope I can make use of the stiff, unforgiving, stubborn decals.

Anywho, here is a photo of where I left off about 6 months ago.

I am in most likely with two kits or three if I can manage to finish one of them.A IAf F 16d Barrack witch I started 19yrs ago and never finished and a IAF kfir C7 after having found out that the cockpit windshield is wrong in the kit and maybe a ch 53 also IAF.

@Richard- good luck with your Camel. I don't know that academy kit, but no matter its errors I am sure you can turn it into a solid project, so carry on

@ Oliver- thanks also for joining this campaign. A 19 years old hangar queen must be some sort of record

I'm up for this, I have at least 3 Hangar Queens a Matchbox HP Victor K2, a build I got lost on a couple of years ago, an Airfix Vampire T11, mucked up the Dayglo, and a Piper Cub float plane, got pushed aside for others. Should aim to finish at least one!

So does dipping every canopy on the bench count as working on HQ6? Many of these are from stalled projects...

One at a time, that's how I got into this mess.
Seriously,that's how I'm trying to work the pile down. I was working on the canopy for my P-400, when I poured out some Future, and thought it might be a good idea to get all of these backlogged canopies at once.

Thanks Pedro, officially in with the anime kit as of yesterday. Will post a pic of the current level of build in the next day or two and then get back into it

My F16 d barrakThat was its state when I entered the campaign much progress has been made since then.

A bit of progress! After a coat of Future, the decals were applied followed by a black and a burnt umber wash. I gave it a shot of Dullcote and removed the masking from the cockpit. There is still a lot to be done but I'm going to focus on a couple of other builds for a bit.

Ryan that is a very, very impressive Mig. Spotless camouflage paint work and a subtly realistic wash really brings out the lines and contours of the plane.

It has been a few months so I thought I would post an update. I have been working on getting further along on a couple of my hanger queens. We are spending some quality time in the paint booth. Upper left is a Hasegawa Spitfire Ia and upper right is a Heller bf-109E which was going to be for the 70th Anniversary Battle of Britain just got their undersides painted and the lower two is the Sword dual kit 70th Anniversary Battle over Malta (my entry in the old Club Med campaign). The RE2001 left has just got its lower and upper camo and the Spitfire V is about to go to the paint booth to get its first of 3 upper camo colors (undersides done). The 3rd color I mention (if some of you may ask) is I need to try to make the famous Malta blue spitfire
