Pedro, looking good. You managed to blend in the color differences around the wing camo bands very well.
I believe I have this particular aircraft in my Kagero books, but cannot remember the details. An aircraft from the Italian front I think, although the cowling indicates otherwise?

Hi Jesper!
Yes, blending the shades was rather simple albeit at the cost of getting the 75 a bit paler than out of the paint jar. No harm done I say.
About the plane it is a flamboyant 109 with eyes on the bulges (notice their absence on the model at this stage still) over a yellow flash. It seems it was operating in the Balkans or Romenia me thinks... Pilot name is Lemke.
Should have some progress pics next weekend
Cheers
Pedro

Just a small update, going through the hardest part of this build, the painting of this unique staffel markings just ahead of the cockpit and the aircraft call sign, gelb 7.
Using Eagle's decals as a stencil i cut some clear masking paper and did my best effort to stick them on the contours of the nose...not an easy task I'd say.
Still I guess that, although not perfect, it turned out ok. Next, using a black Faber Castell artist pen size Medium, i made my first try to reproduce the black lining. The result you see in the photos are just that, now using a fine tip pen and some masks I'll try to make it a bit more perfect in shape and width.
Some yellow spill occurred on the fuselage and left wing so that's another minor nuisance to complete...
Next update will be the finished kit.
Cheers,
Pedro

Good progrss, Pedro and nice job on the masking. I am sure the end result will be great.
David, nice build. Very cool result. Now we just need the millinium falcon and two tie fighters going down the engine exhaust.

Hi all,
Taking advantage of a late summer day here in Lisbon, I took a couple of photos to share with you how my Gustav is going.
I reckon it will be completed in the next few days, just need to complete the oil washes and other weathering details, complete the seat belts and head armour, add the exhaust pipes and its stains, complete U/C and antenas... in my work pace this means some 5-6 hours work
All markings, minus swastika and stencil, are painted
Cheers
Pedro
P.S. Funny how sunlight changes color perspectives. Both flaps are painted RLM 74, the darker grey, yet given their angle of placement, they look they were painted RLM 75 on the photos

Great build, Pedro. It looks very nice.
I am already thinking about what to build for HOM 2017.

Back to work on this now that I have finished my Spitfire. I don't think I'll finish by year's end but I'll give it a shot.

Hi
I just remembered that I joined this campaign some time ago...So.
Here's mine kit. started last week finished tonight. I think...
A Hobbyboss VBL used by 2REP in Bosnia.
A kit is a piece of crap, but it comes together pretty nice. There is so many mistakes in this kit that I highly UN-RECOMMEND it. If you want to build a nice VBL- buy one from Tiger model. Anyway. some pictures.

Paul, excellent weathering on those engines. There is always hangar queen 2017 to continue your build in.
Lapman, finished just in the nick of time. Great build of an unusual subject.

Happy new years everyone! A very nice and varied campaign. Ribbons have been awarded so let me know if you didn't get one and think you should have. This one is now over, but I'm sure I'll see you around the hanger!

Thanks Jesper! I wasn't sure about doing one for 2017, there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in this one. Am I wrong? Do you guys think I should keep this one going?

I think it is great. Maybe point out more clearly that it covers kits for both 2016 and 2017 in the case of the new campaign.
I think a lot believes it only covers kits in the year in question - for the new campaign that would be 2017, but it also covers the preceeding year as I understand it. Basically anything Copyright 2016 or 2017 or any kit just reaching your part of the world.

Michael, I understand you are busy with the forum. So if you need somebody to be the administrator on the campaign let me know.
I can write up the campaign rules and submit. All I need from you is to make the 2017 ribbon and add it to the campaign page.
Let me know....
