Fantastic attention to detail Steffen, good work on the tail correction, looks spot on. The base is really nice too, were those little concrete sections often built to accommodate the aircraft?

Thank you James and Terri!

@James: these small concrete stands are typical western front things maybe even limited to JG 2. Marc (of Mark58) told me the rear end is embraced with sand hills as a small hard stand, but I could not see this on the picture I based my small dio on.

So here we have the kit,.. looks much better :

and the tail after the wash is removed

Now the guns are bathing in blackening fluid. It still looks like I can make it.

all the best

Hi again,

well, I got it half way done. I will add the position lights and antenna, but that will be it for now.

and I noticed another mistake but I will fix that when I am back.

Now just some hours of packing and loading the car and maybe an hour or two of sleep and then I'll hit the road...

all the best

Steffen,
Looking real good.

The overall dirty acrylic wash is a weathering tool I often use. Is that Flory's wash, or your own brew?

Steffen

I agree the wash looks really good. I know there is plenty of info on washes but I would be interested to know how you do yours. What is in the wash other than the watercolours, do you apply with a brush and is there any clean up after it is dried?

Thanks

Your FW190 looks fantastic. A very enjoyable build to follow. It looks like the Hasegawa kit is still one of the most accurate and also most enjoyable to build.

Steffen,
I can see a really wide variations of watercolors, and they're dirt cheap. How hard is it to remove them after they have dried? Do you apply them over a gloss surface, or a matt surface?

I've found that a matt surface at least with the Flory wash does leave a much dirtier look to the aircraft then what you end up with on a glossy surface where almost all the wash is rubbed off.

Hi All from Telford

i use some dishwasing liquid in the water and always work on glossy surface. I primarily want to deepen the panel line effect. colors are mixed on the model to avoid uniformity.

sludge wash is applied with a brush over everything that cannot break. removed with a cloth if necessary slightly dampened. hard to reach areas with q-tips

So back from Telford I had to work again immediately so I was pretty stressed ad did not want to rush things.

Last weekend i made my correction and the last part added. Some airbrushing over the week and today I finally took some photos for my final walk around:

thanks again for the support during the build!

all the best

Steffen

P.S. spot the correction and the final part added.

Thanks Chuk!

as always I have a lot of things in several states of "progress". Just this week I started the Airfix P-40B just to gain some mojo for the Bronco P-40B I work on (Aeroscale Blog)

And today the Friedrich Royal Class (bought it on the black friday 20% BFC sale) and some Gator paint masks arrived on my doorstep ... so I might start something different soon.

all the best

Great work Steffen,

The base just sets it all off perfectly. I am looking forward to your 109F build.

Cheers Kent!

For the moment I am trying to finish at least one of the P-40Bs .. I have already started the Bf 109G-6 early which shall act as a diversion every time I get stuck. The new Eduard is such a nice easy kit... but we will see. I got tons of kits around here and the P-51D and Cr 32 are also tempting (not to mention all that started kits)

Thanks for watching!

Steffen,
this is another outstanding built of Yours! And the base is beautiful, too. Thank You very much for sharing!
Is it correct, that You adjusted the position of the cock on the cowl? Still looking for the missing part. I love these pictures, where You have to find the difference
