Thanks for your comments. I'm pleased that you like my G-6. Here comes another WW II-protagonist in 1/48 scale:
Ju 87 D-3 "Stuka" in italian service. The kit comes from Hasegawa. A good fit and nice details. Built out of box, only the seat belts are made of etching parts and the antenna wire is made of stretchable yarn. Colors from Vallejo and Revell.
My model shows an aircraft of the 216. Squadriglia (Squadron), 121. Gruppo (Group), August 1943.

Another looker Stefan, you seem to be just popping them out, I think I'm envious!

A most impressive Stuka build. Very nicely painted camo scheme. I can't remember the last time I saw a Stuka in Italian markings.

Lovely painting on your Picchiatelli, Stefan. The "evil aircraft" is not often seen in italian markings as a model. I still have the same bird here in romanian service, but it's still in the box for some time ....

Yes.....the Stuka looks really scary with this dark background. It is almost expected that two undeads will rise from the cockpit ....
Torsten, the weather still leaves a lot of time for modeling. So put the Stuka on your workbench...

I currently have the RF-84 from Tanmodel on the workbench. For my Turkey long-term project. Therefore that this kit was so praised, it has some weaknesses in the fit.
Especially at the camera section in the nose and when assembling the fuselage halves.

Stefan, I have already many projects planned for this year, probably more than I can build .... So no Stuka this year.
At the moment I have a C-45 Explorer and Zvezda's very nice "Peschka" on the bench. Both should be finished for the Stetten Expo in March.
And yes, I had some great days in Stockholm (which isn't really in the Baltics .... ) with lots, lots of snow (2 days nonstop snowing) and some crispy cold temperatures. Just as I like for my winter holidays .... Tell you more when we meet again.

News from my workbench: it's Tamiya's Fw 190 F8 in 1/48 scale.
Built out of box. Only the antenna wire is made of stretchable yarn and the gun barrels are made of cannulas.
Colors from Vallejo, Gunze and Revell.
Washing with diluted oil paint and using of various pastels for weathering.
My model shows an aircraft of the "I./SG 2", Hungary, January 1945.

the spinner came out perfect from what I can see. Also you decaling is so perfect, it looks like the markings were all painted on.

Nicely done on this difficult camo, Stefan! I've build exactly this bird in February 2012 and I made the same mistake as you. The white lines are far too slim. There's a good photo of "Red 2" in Osprey's "Luftwaffe Schlachtgruppen" (AEU 13), page 111, which shows that the lines are really broad. But I think your result looks better than mine. The demarcation between RLM 76 and RLM 74/75 on the fuselage should be soft and not sharp. Here I did better .... May we see a photo of the underside? I miss the yellow chevron on the left wing which goes a bit over the leading edge. It was an identification mark between german and hungarian aircrafts.
As this is winter camouflage, your base doesn't fit at all, Stefan. You need to make a winter base! Hope to see this "Schlächter" in Stetten.

Thanks for your comments. Torsten, you can see the 190 in Zeiskam and surely in Stetten. The winter display is made with Tamiya's special texture paint for snow but you're right. It doesn't really look like winter on the photos.

But now here comes my latest WWII-Fighter:
IAR-80 from HobbyBoss in 1/48 scale. A nice kit, only the decals tend to tear easily.

The IAR 80 was a Romanian World War II low-wing monoplane, all-metal monocoque fighter and ground-attack aircraft. When it first flew, in 1939, it was comparable to contemporary designs such as the German Messerschmitt Bf 109B, the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, and the American Curtiss P-40B/Tomahawk Mk.I and superior to the Dutch Fokker D.XXI and Polish PZL P.24. Production problems and lack of available armament delayed entry of the IAR 80 into service until 1941. It remained in frontline use until May 1945.

Your IAR 80 is as usual up to your high build standards. A rock solid camo paint scheme, with just the right amount of weathering for a well maintained operational aircraft.

Thank you, guys!! The secret of my high "production rate" is quite simple: I work in different shifts and therefore I'm often at home during the day. This means a lot of time for modeling......
By the way......here comes a picture of my little "Photostudio". Incidentally, the base is one of my standard displays for photography. It is made of a wooden serving dish from IKEA.....

Great photo setup. I keep on promising myself to build one, just never seem to get around to it.

Like you, I work overnight, and it does leave me a lot more modeling time. But my wife seems to feel that the extra time would be much better spent working around, on, or in the house. of course the time I spend detailing my Hyundai Sports Coupe is also considered wasteful. She's never been a car nut either.

But she also knows, she remains my dearest "toy"... !!!

It's "Dora-Time" again. D-9 and Ta 152 are my favourite german WWII-fighters. Especially the Doras of the famous "Sachsenbergschwarm" (or "Parrot Squadron") of JV44 I like a lot.
After the complete Parrot Squad in 1/32 scale, here comes the same unit in 1/48.
By the way......my big Doras will come to a museum in Ainring......on the site of the former Airbase of JV44.
Now.....this is "1 of 5" (sounds like "Borg"). It's the "Red 1", flown by Lt. Heinz Sachsenberg, leader of the Parrot Squad. His personal slogan (left side of the fuselage) was "Verkaaft's mei G'wand, I foahre in Himmel". It's written in bavarian tongue and means: "Sell my clothes, I go to heaven".
The kit comes from HobbyBoss. Colors from Gunze (RLM 23), Humbrol (RLM 82+83), Vallejo (RLM 76) and Revell (RLM 70+02).

Great result again, Stefan! As I know your big "Doras", your smaller one look as perfect. Do you also plan to build the whole unit in 1/48? Looking forward to see it next weekend.
But I have to repeat my critics I have pointed out before. You should show us folks here also the undersides of your works. Especially these colourful "Doras" with their red/white belly are worth a look. So do us the favour, please.

Here comes the next member of my "Parrot Squadron" in 1/48 scale. It's Tamiya's Fw 190 D-9. Nothing to say about the kit.......it's top Tamiya-Quality!!!
My "Dora" shows the "Red 13", flown by Lt. Klaus Faber. His personally Slogan (left side of the fuselage) was: "Rein muss er und wenn wir beide weinen" (In he goes even though both of us will cry). The "Red 13" is the most photographed Dora of the "Sachsenbergschwarm" but nevertheless, even experts are not sure which camouflage the aircraft had exactly.
In his publications, Jerry Crandall comments that several variants were possible. RLM 76, 82, 83 or RLM 76, 75, 83. Or even aircraft fuselage in RLM 76, 82, 83 and wings in RLM 75, 83!!!! I chose the variant RLM 76, 75, 83.
Colors from Gunze (RLM 23, 75, 83), Revell (RLM 04) and Vallejo (RLM 76, 70).
