Ha Ha thanks Steven, did not think about that. I do hope he gets to see her again though.

I've been watching this in the background.
I've got a morbid fear of open water (think in a past life I was on the Titanic).
So, this to me is ultra realism.
Well done sir!

Superb Doug, a really different take on using a spare figure.

Although the sun shines today nicely, I have a shiver looking at this fantastic model! Awesome! I hope some flying boat is near for catching up the brave pilot!

thanks everyone, it was fun to do and as some have stated, a good use of a pilot with no plane, and such a wonderful sculpt by whom ever does the figures for Airfix, if anyone knows who that is tell him I am a big fan.

Doug, why not send Airfix a couple of photos of your work? Tell them what it was and what you made of it. I'm sure they will be very interested to hear.

That looks like a very good suggestion to me. This is indeed an amazing piece of work showing both imagination and craftsmanship.

Again, Everything you touch turns to gold, even the scrap stuff! I'm in awe, and I've been painting figures for over 50 years. Reminds me of the best artists of Imrie-Risley, the Soldier Shop and Monogram Merite, and truly honors Shep Paine-- who I think you must be channeling! But dare I say you are even better?

Looks spectacular, really like the figure painting.
My one criticism is that the figure doesn't look wet the way I would expect for someone in a life raft.
