Thomas,
the weathering, while light, still adds that operational look to a well maintained aircraft. The panels lines have become more prominent, but not stark looking nor out of place by any means.

Getting closer to crossing that finish line.

Yes, the weathering is really nice. Can´t wait to see her on her own feet.

OK Guys,

this must surely come to an end.
In addition to the last post let me show the gears from the underside view. You can recognize that the struts still look a bit crude and maybe one should use A/M parts or scratch them seriously to improve more than I can do.
Same for the kits flaps. I missed to thinning them down to scale what would have been a good idea.

Pre-finally added the pitot and even those 2 tubes in front of the canopy using some sprue. About my own made seatbelts I'm not sure if I leave them. Not much visible in the pics because of the sponge that helps the canopy to cure.

If my final checkup won't show anything disturbing I'll be back quickly with some final shots.
Hope you stay tuned ...

Hi, Thomas!

Not bad at all, I must say, considering your below zero starting point

Waiting for the "reveal" pics.

P.S. that is you desk light? You might be a feline as well if you can model in the dark

Thanks a lot Gabriel!
I'm far from a feline - in fact I'm quite strong myoptic.
Well it's just my Desktop light, where I prefer a smooth illumination. There's much brighter light when I normally work at my small bench.

Oliver,
It's been a long journey, but you're almost there. Pics look really good. I wouldn't worry about the gear at this point of the build. Not even sure that there's AM replacements for it.

Thanks, Joel!
Any post from you no matter the Name you're giving is much welcome as long as it’s the right thread.

Sorry, not the whole finals.

Started yesterday late with the last glim of daylight before the longest total Lunar Eclipse of the Century on July 27-2018 – The Blood Moon. Hope you’ve had a nice view.

So again bad luck with good illumination for photos (but really like the sprits of sunsets ) and after the last pic I managed to break off the pitot-tube due to wind avoiding spin…
Some work and restart with the pics…

Thomas,
Please forgive me, I mix up a lot of names lately.

Maybe you missed the light for detail picture, but those 4 backlite sunset shots are tremendous. They look as real as you can get.

O.K. dear fellow modellers, finally I call this done!

Also I finished my first build log and hope that was somehow enjoyable. I would be happy to do another any time.

Thank you all very much for your patience in following this thread and for the posts and support. Everything is highly appreciated.

Managed to took some pics with daylight and indoors and choose a few to show.
That by far was my longest journey ever in building a kit but I'm quite happy what I've done with that old and simple bunch of styrene as this was only planned as an exercsise in scratching something. Regarding it was just 1/72 I can't believe the time I needed .
I know, there's always space for more improvements but I hope I could pointed out some things one find useful as well.

... on to the next construction, 'till then, and again thanks!

btw: as you can see this unit ("08") seems to be more or less overpainted several times so please don't blame me for an accurate camo while trying to give that aspect .

Wow,
Thomas this truly is a gem! I just love the way, you build the kit. And Your photographing skills are excellent, too.

Thank You very much for an inspiring modeling thread! I will enjoy Your next build.
