I'm in!
Although I want this to be the year I finish the monogram F8F, I suspect my first hanger queen will be the Hasegawa F-20 I'm trying to finish for 3rd Generation jet fighters.

Hi All!
Michael, thanks for doing all the admin sort of stuff, without you, we'd flounder I'm sure! Happy New Year to all!
Welcome to the Hangar Queen 9 edition! If it's languishing on the shelves, hiding in a box, and at night you hear a faint whisper calling you, then this is the place for you!
-ok, a bit dramatic, but after last year I'm finding it hard to believe we've all caught up on our models in waiting.-
So, come one who has a model in progress that got kicked to the curb, one deemed too difficult, one that time ran out of on the group build! Doesn't matter, just finish it!!
The goal is to finish unfinished projects, that said, I picked up Mauve's P-40N at ATLCON17, it was partially started, but came with 2 True detail cockpits! All for the sum of 5 USD!
While not a hangar queen of my making, it qualifies, and I'm more that willing to give it a go. The previous owner/owners did a great job on one of the cockpits, so that will be the one I go with, only a little weathering from me. I did close the cockpit, and the Mauve kit is great! I built this in 1997, and am excited to add this to the collection!

Well, I admit defeat in the "Bombers 2" campaign but will try to finish my Frog 1/72 Heinkel He 111H-1 for this campaign. This is the latest photo of where I was.
Basically still sanding puttied areas, putting paint over the area to see if I need more putty or sanding, then more sanding, and repeat.

I've got several stalled it's just a matter of deciding which one or ones to actually finish.

I am going with a Me 262 for this campaign. I will go old school with the Monogram/Revell 1/48 kit.
I have a box that should contain two Me 262s. These should have been build a long time ago. Some parts are put together and there are a number of conversions I was planning for these two birds.
The conversion(s) planned are a turret mounted belly gun to be able to attack bombers and ground targets at an angle. Another conversion was a standoff weapon against ground targets or big bomber formations. Basically a mini version of the V1 type air launched weapon.
One Me 262 will be for this campaign, the other for the "WWII twins" campaign. if I cannot make the conversions I planned or some arts have gone missing I will find another build for this campaign. The stack of semi finished projects is high, so plenty to choose from.
Lots of plans, not a lot of execution. Now I will get it done
More to follow soon

My hangar queen is on the way to get some colors added.
The construction is more or less done, although more sanding and filling is probably necessary before the paint booth.

Hello to all,
first, I'd like to introduce myself: my name is Alexander, I'm from Germany. My main interests are building tanks and planes (equally) and admiring the extraordenary models you're building...
Currently, I participate in two other campaigns on armorama, but as it's happening, there's a nice MiG-27 from Trumpeter waiting to be finished. It's still on the very beginning, only the weapons, the engine and the bang-seat have been finished so far (without paint).
So maybe I could join this campaign to finish this model?
A starting pic would soon follow...
Greetings
-Alex

Can't see why not Alex it needs finishing and this IS the campaign to do that in. As it says in the rules started but not finished.
Here's the Rules
The Rules and Regs
The rules are simple
1) The model must be a build started, but not finished and must be site specific.
2) A photo must be posted in the thread of your partly built model before you restart the build.
3) WIP photos are greatly encouraged.
4) Multiple builds are allowed, But only one ribbon will be awarded.
5) Two clear photos of your finished model must be posted in the thread and the gallery.
6) Any and all aircraft are allowed from the first flight to space travel to science fiction.
7) I reserve the right to add rules if needed.
8) Have fun, support each other.

Alex,
Absolutely you can join! I look forward to seeing it! I'm only now starting to appreciate some of the Soviet birds. Better late than never.
This campaign is all about getting them finished and off the shelf of doom. I'm sure we're all interested to follow your work!

Hi all!
Almost halfway there! Some good stuff seems to be in the works.
I've made some progress on my P-40N, got the wings on, seams are filled. Next up is masking the canopy...
Keep up the good work, I'm confident that we'll have a good showing by year end.

Hello all,
here are the promised fotos of my MiG-27M (sorry for the delay).
Not much done untill now, but I think my enthusiasm will return when I re-start this beautiful bird.
Hopefully I'll finish this model before the end of the year.
Happy modelling

Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1D Corsair
I am going to finish up my 1/48 Corsair from last year's PTO Campaign. I had most of the major sub-assemblies built, and just needed to paint them and detail the bits and bobs.
Here's where I left off:
I picked up some of AK Interactive's new Real Colors range to them try out. So far I like them a lot, they are on par with Tamiya and Gunze acrylic laquers and thin easily with iso alcohol. When I set up a hobby bench in the new house I decided I am going to avoid spraying anything other than acrylics when I can, the fumes from other paints are a pain to deal with even with an extractor set up.
The major sub-assemblies shot with RC258 "Dark Sea Blue", VF-84 markings painted on:
The landing gear with solder break lines and springs added from coiled wire:
Hopefully I'll get more done this weekend so I can clear this off the bench.

Hello fellow modelers,
I have a question regarding the MiG-27M: the ejection seat in the kit depicts the KM-1, but I read somewhere, that the later versions of the '27 uses the more modern K-36.
I hope that some of you (who know much more than me) can help me, which seat I should use.
Thanks in advance
- Alex

Pulled out an old old old one.. 150 parts onto the engine deck later, STILL more locator holes than parts it seems...
Not sure I can maintain the focus long enough to finish this

Well this wasn't my original plan, that was going to be finally finishing my F8F Bearcat. But Bombers 2 finished before I did, so this is my entry. US Airfix 1/72 USAAF A-20C Havoc.
Really all that's left is getting the decals on, the antenna, rigging and fixing a dropped landing gear door.

A little 'free' time and some motivation are powerful things..
Up and on her own two (5?) feet...
But fair warning, I have MADD (modelers attention defe.. HEY! a squirrel!!) in the WORST way... probably why these campaigns are so good for me.
Plugging along.
