Kilts are not skirts - they are traditional Highland Dress. Worn with nothing underneath, because they are made of wool and are bl**dy hot!!

Just check out the movie Braveheart for reference. Definately not a skirt. Though I have heard of an interesting origin of the word.

It seems a young couple were amorously involved in heated passion with in the bonnie lassie's bed chambers, when suddenly on the whispers of a jealous stableboy the lassie's father was heard to be breaking down yon bedroom oaken door.

The young laddie did in haste set to with a bundle of clothes out yon window just as the father broke into the lassie's chamber. In his due haste the young man tried to dress himself at a dead run accross the misty moors. Sudenly he realized (with the masters hounds in hot pursuit) that he had grabbed the wrong pile of garments. He was left with but the lassie"s short shift / half slip and skirt.

Not wanting to cross the moors in not but his skin the laddie did what was expediant but forgot the great Gastonbury Cliffs at the western end of the moors. Needless to say the end was but a long drop to a sad end. The young laddie got kilt. Oh the sad lonely ache of the deprived heart. Barkeep my usual...

Tonight the cafe is rockin! I walked in to the sound of the Disco group "Hot Chocolate " singing "I believe in Miracles...you sexy thing..." Merlin was boogying with his newest lady friend...She looks a lot like Angelina Jolie to me in this light. Jean - Luc wearing platform shoes and bell bottom trousers and his lady were on the floor. Jan "Lucky13" was dressed in a plaid leisure suit with a mystery diva dressed in white satin. Me in my Class A uniform with the new hardware...gad I feel like a stuffed shirt.

The air is thick with nostalgia...and the cook's special burgers and brats wafting from the kitchen. Over in the corner is Ursula and her all girl ground crew... ok time to loosin up. Off comes the Sam Browne...the lights go down.. the sound of "Whats going on?" fill the air...

Back in the day...it was said there were two types of pilots... rotary and inline. I am a large fan of torque so its rotary for me. I guess the radials and inlines used in the minor skirmashes that followed the big one (WWI) were alright... But in the end it was the backcracking whine of the jet turbines...kind of like an internalized rotary eh? Waitress...nother round for us please!
