It just goes from bad to worse I started to apply the new coat of klear and the underside went on fine but when it came to doing the topside it's done the same again this is with a new bottle of Klear and a new paint brush so I don't know what is causing it. (does anyone else have any ideas?) Luckily I have plenty of the paint I mixed so I can respray the wing but time is getting short and I can only hope I'll get it done by the end of the weekend. but at this rate I may have to relinquish all hope and admit defeat as I don't really want to rush the kit and mess it up. From the pattern its making, it looks like it's reacting with the adhesive from the masking tape.

I do not know what is causing this, but wizards explenation sounds plausible. Maybe carefully clean the aircraft from any making tape residue before applying klear?
Hope you will be able to make it in time

Interesting thought but the camo was done freehand with no masking. The streaks you can see is what I believe to be is the result of the Klear reacting with the paint. I brush paint my Klear (don't like cleaning the airbrush afterwards ) but i have never had this problem with Tamiya paints before

Hi Allen
I had a similar problem with my Phantom - the kleer reacted with the paint, but that was Humbrol enamel, and i don't think it had cured properly. That one got the oven cleaner solution.

OK so I've managed to do a nice bit of recovery and was able to get away with respraying only the affected area. I decided to prevent this occurring again I dug out my old airbrush and this time sprayed the Klear with no reaction this time. It's come out OK this time and it's only set me back by a day as I was hoping to have the decals on and sealed by tonight.
I apologise now and please forgive me if I'm holding up the process of everyone getting their ribbon.

Hi Allen, no problem. I think (hope) I speak for everybody.
I will hand out ribbons sometime next week. Having seen your previous kits - I am sure this one is worth waiting for.

Hi Andy, I still do not see any pictures of your build in the gallery. Please remember to upload your pictures to the gallery.
That goes for everybody else too. Only the people having uploaded pictures to the gallery will get a ribbon. So far only 9 persons out of 28 that joined the campaign have uploaded pictures:

bf443
oraora
Phantom2
lampie

camogirl

I went through all the old treads - phew!
I have sent out some PM reminders as some people seem to have forgotten to upload pictures to the gallery.

Considering all the fit problems, that's a great looking kit and you pulled it off really well Andy. I can only hope I get mine finished today

It only looks good if you see it from the correct angle. I'll be brining it to Doncaster so you can see the true horror of it.

Too bad that you cannot share any more photos, but one photo is enough for the ribbon anyway

Well, bombs, rockets and big guns/cannons are not necessary for this campaign - only for the tank busting campaign. So if you choose to enter it bombless and add ordenance at another point in time, no problem for me.
It could be that you modelled it just coming back from a sortie

Just a quick update, Unfortunately my fiancé's depression set in again yesterday so I ended up looking after her. But i did manage to get the decals on and and top coat of Klear ready for the weathering to hopefully start tonight.

Sorry to hear about your fiance. Hope everything works out.
However, sounds good about the model. I will be ready to pin a ribbon on your chest

Hi guys, sorry it is dragging out a bit with the ribbons. Basically I am waiting for a couple of late entries before the ribbons will be handed out.
As soon as they are in with their builds, the ribbons will be stuck on your chest - well, on your profile at least
