Thanks jesper, for allowing me to join the campaign and the comments. I do enjoy it and hope to join more so i can improve by building more.
I fully agree with you. Campaigns are a great way to share the hobby and take advantage of other peoples experiences and comments.
I know for sure that a Pacific WWII campaign is coming so that might be interesting to you? It stretches from the very early battles leading up to the full blown Pacific war to VJ day.

Quick update on my USAF Skyraider:
Finding it a struggle to get the kit finished by the end of the month, but after a bit of hard grafting this afternoon I've got the kit assembled and primed hopefully I'll get the first couple of colour on in the next week. I'm going to do the XF-19 Sky grey underside first followed by the XF-52 Light Earth.
I'll get some pics done when it's had some colours put on it.

That might be a hope for me as well, as I'm away for the next three weekend and I only managed to get the light grey underside sprayed tonight and maybe able to get that masked and the light earth top coat done on Thursday. It's certainly a push
At least I've learnt my lesson and I'm not signing up for any campaigns until I've at least started the kit that might be suitable for one.

Hi Andy and Allen
Since we had some start up problems with the official campaign site in the beginning I will be (a little) flexible about the finishing dates. Both of you can get the two extra weeks needed to finish your builds.
It would be a shame not to include your builds since you have started and are progressing as I understand it. Also as I know your high standard of building the models would be a great addition to the campaign. After all we are here to have fun and enjoy the hobby.
Thanks for participating - looking forward to see your builds

As promised an update photo of the Skyraider. the Light grey underside is done and masked and the light earth of the camo is on. I personally think the Tamiya light earth is a little dark compared to the colour profiles I have found of tan colour (although the flash has lightened it a little in the picture). I may mix a little bit of Tamiya flesh to lighten it and spray random patches to weather it before the other two colours go on. What does the community think?

Hi Allen
Good to see your progress
I tend to agree with you that the tan seems to be a little too dark. However, I also think that even though colour pictures are available it is difficult to estimate the real life colour. But, that being said, I would also go for a lighter colour. After all it is more likely that the camouflage was faded by the sun than darkened

Hi all
Sorry to let everyone down but I'm not going to be able to finish on time. Everything that can go wrong with decalling a model has and, in trying to rush for the end of the campaign, I'm only making it worse. I've also got some personal stuff going on, so between the two things I think its a good idea to put the models aside for a bit.
Cheers
Wiz

Hi Wizard
Sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about the decals - I just had some tragic problems with my Hs 129 for the Down low campaign.
I hope everything works out and hope to see you in the future for another campaign.

Actually this is as ready as it is going to be. (I need to attach the pilot's door, and the tail-rotor. I only realized they were missing after uploading the photo... The overhead transparent panels will only be tainted green when I find a good method. I've tried Future+food paint, transparent Humbrol, Tamiya, but none of them are very convincing.)
It's the MRC UH-1C, and I don't know about others, but I learned to hate it... The fit is terrible. The inside does not fit into the fuselage, the clear parts do not fit into their place. And millions of rivets disappeared when I filled the gaps (especially at the bottom). Some I replaced with superglue-dots, but I just gave up after a while. Had I known how much work the fitting and filling be, I wouldn't have bothered with the engine...

Hello Everyone,
Well it's down to the wire but despite the best efforts of my kids here she is "Show Me" F-104C based at Udorn Royal Airbase, Thailand. The model is 1/48th Monogram. The kit was not hard to assemble except some seam work and problems with weak attachments for the missile rails. I used Superscale decals. I have really enjoyed this build and the Vietnam Campaign. I have a build progress on pre-flight check if you want to see what it looked like at the beginning
https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/94064&page=1#838174 .
I wish there was time to do more (Monogram Thud waiting on the shelf).
Hope you enjoy the pictures,
Brian

@Andras: Very nice Huey! Glad that you participated and had fun although the MRC Huey can be a problem. I had the same problems as you when I build it some years back.
@Brian: Great Starfighter. Now we have some air support
Glad that you found the time to take care of the family and finish the Starfighter

I'm still soldering on to get my Skyraider done. All the main colours are now on and I hope to get some Klear and the decals on by the end of the week. Not much else will happen over the weekend as I'm away at Duxford for the airshow. I will endevour to get this finished though.

Sounds good, Allen.
I am a bit envious on you going to the airshow - just a bit....
Looking forward to see more on your skyraider

I'll take as many photos of the air show as possible and get them uploaded to my website once I return. I also intend on doing an article of the three RAF Museums once I've been so watch this space.....
P.S. If i remember my camera I'll get some pics of the Skyraider up before I go.

Latest on my HU-1D
I can honestly say this is the worst kit i've ever come across - it's the Revell Kit circa 1974, like Andras above - nothing fits.
I'll not be doing any work over the weekend, as like Tomcat i'm at Duxford over the weekend, so i'll drop photos on my Photobucket and link to here.

Hi Andy
You are another fortunate soul that is going to Duxford.
Sorry to hear the kit is a b**ch to put together. On the bright side it does not show. It looks good so far and I really like the colourful tail markings.
Looking forward to see more, when you get back from Duxford.

Arrrrhhhhhhhh!!!!! Disaster struck tonight. Just as i started to apply the Klear, for some reason it started to drastically change the shade of the paint. Fortunately I managed to wash it off before it dried on so not much damage has been done (apart from setting me back a little
) i should be able to hide some of it with some clever weathering (I hope) I think the Klear has been contaminated at some point so I'm going to get some more tomorrow as see if it helps
As promised here's a progress pic so far (taken just after the incident)
