The Bf 110C was the first version of the Bf 110 to be equipped with Daimler Benz engines. At the altitudes it had to operate in order to protect the bombers it would prove to be increasingly vulnerable to British and later American fighter aircraft due to its lack of manoeuvrability. The "D" version came with additional fuel tanks for increased range.
The new tool Messerschmitt Bf110C-2/C-4 has hit the shops. Not much information or pictures on the Airfix website, but there are a few sprue shots circulating around some of the other forums sites. Very reasonable price though. I will update when there are some sprue shots

I don't know, you turn your back for one moment and two more gems from the world of rotary winged aircraft appear. This time in the form of the Hughes MD-500e and the Hughes MD-500MD. These delightful if somewhat mean looking helicopters in 1/72 are part of AZ Models two kits in one box offer. These played two of the baddies in that classic film Capricorn 1. There is that classic chase involving two black painted Hughes-500 chasing Telly Savalis in his red crop duster with Elliot Gould in the front seat! Classic stuff!

This rather snazzy livery for the Vickers VC-10 XX914 Royal Aircraft Establishment Bedford 1974 caught my eye. This is intended for the Airfix kit although I would imagine Welsh Models might have produced one. The decals can be used on either the VC-10 or the Super VC-10. Decals for the windows are supplied for both types. Please note that the Airdecal site is under construction, but this decal sheet is available through Hannants, see link below.

1/72 Kawasaki Ki-78 "Ken" (1:72)
New offerings from the prolific AZ Models. This time the subject is the attractive looking experimental Kawasaki Ki-78 with distinctive placing of the radiators on the side of the fuselage, just aft of the cockpit. AZ Models are offering two kits for the price of one with both these releases, which sounds like a bargain to me. Some searching on the Internet revealed that a few outlets are not listing these kits as 2 in 1, so check before buying. The two releases are:
New resin upgrades sets for the P-38 Lightning. Ultracast have released some excellent looking resin wheels and seats for this famous twin tailed fighter. Each set comes with two main wheels and the single nose wheel. All you need to do is reference which wheel set applies to your particularly model. The seats are a nice touch by Ultracast giving the modeller the choice of using PE harnesses [not supplied] or go for the ready cast harnesses.
Thanks to Jean-Luc for spotting and editing this! I've obviously been looking in the wrong place all the time he was away...
AZ Models have released two classic airliners in their AZ Airport series. In my youth I spent many hours plane spotting at my local airport and one of my favourite aircraft was the Tupolev-134. Loved the name, the very wide track undercarriage, the undercarriage pods and the clear nose. So I was really pleased when AZ announced it's release. The other release the good looking DC-9.

2 years in the making here is a great DVD for anyone interested in WWI aviation replicas. It gives you the basics of what a modern day flying circus has to do to move across country to meet up at the Annual Dawn patrol in Ohio. The flying sequences are breathtaking.
Here's a blast from the past. Tamiya have re-released a number of 1/100 kits I think date back from the 1970's. I believe like Hasegawa at the time Tamiya were making an effort to round off the scales.
