Alistair from A2Zeemodels has sent Aeroscale news of some interesting developments including a 1/48 Vickers Vimy, Shorts 184 and Felixstowe F.2. There is also news of forthcoming releases kits from ex Montex masters.

As mentioned a few newsletters ago I had very kindly been sent a 1/48 scale Vickers Vimy from a friend in South Africa, that being Tony Collins of TC Models. About 15 years ago, Tony had quite a few models in production and the Vimy was one of them. For various reasons the production of these models ceased, earlier in the year Tony offered the Vimy and two WWI torpedo boats to me, I am pleased to say that the Vimy will be making a debut at Scale Model World 2011. The masters have had some changes and further upgrades will be made to the kit before release early in 2012.
The model is currently being prepared and as yet I have not seen all the changes and upgrades myself. The new proto-type development model will be on display at Scale Model World and pictures will appear after the show, in a follow up newsletter.
The even better news is that further models from Tony will follow during the course of 2012, that will include the two torpedo boats and other aircraft will include a Shorts 184 and Felixstowe F.2 in 1/48 scale and possibly one or two other surprises.

Even More News
Last but not least I am pleased to announce that I have secured a great set of 8 masters from Montex. These models were all previously available under the Montex brand and were stocked and sold by A2Zee Models and other distributors. I will start receiving the master patterns in the next few weeks. It will take some time to get all the sets prepared and back into production under the Alley Cat brand so please be patient. The Montex (soon to be Alley Cat) range of kits will only be available through A2Zee Models and a few of my loyal trade customers.
The list of kits that will come with the Montex range are as follows:
1/72 scale kits:
-Fairy Fawn Mk II.
-Vickers Viking IV, the Viking is available as two different types.
1/32 scale kits:
CA 13 Boomerang.
Gloster Gamecock,
Hawker Fury I & II,
Henschel -HS 123A,
Yakovlev Yak 1B
Dewoitine D-510.

I believe that I will be making some changes and upgrades to these kits and possibly even some different versions to some of the models. Please note that any of the new or changed kits will only be available as complete kits and will not be available as separate items to upgrade existing Montex kits.

This certainly makes for an exciting and busy 2012, in addition to the above I still hope to develop and add some entirely new products and models to the Alley Cat range.
