Anna from ICM Holdings has sent Kitmaker some images of the sprue shots of their latest aviation 1/72 subject the Polikarpov U-2/Po-2VS. The type was initially a trainer that was developed into a WWII Soviet Light Night Bomber.
One of the most numerous and famous aircraft in the world aviation history was the Polikarpov U-2. It was designed as basic training aircraft. The maiden flight was in June 1927. The U-2 was nicknamed the “flying deck” and trained thousands of Soviet pilots.
During WWII the U-2 was fitted with weapons and the type was redesignated the U-2VS. They were successfully used as light night bombers flown often by female crews.
After N.N. Polikarpov death in 1944 the plane was renamed the Po-2 in tribute to it’s creator.
Contents include:
-Highly detailed engine.
-Armament and
-Cockpit interior.
-Markings for four aircraft.
