Revell have sent us details of this month's latest aircraft kit releases:
1/32 Junkers Ju88 A-4 Product ID: 80-3988
Overview
Skill level: 5
Scale: 1:32
Length: 453 mm
Wingspan: 630 mm
Parts: 380
Dive-bombing. Torpedo-bombing. Night fighting. The Junkers Ju 88 could do it all - and then some. A-4 variants were equipped with more powerful engines, improved armor and extensive armament including SC 250 and SC 500 bombs. Max Ordnance load was around 6000 lb (3,000 kg). Over 16,000 Ju 88s were produced from 1939 through 1945, but only two complete aircraft exist today. Ju 88s were used on all the German fronts from Norway to North Africa. Kit features fully detailed interior and exterior, bombs, guns and decals for two Luftwaffe versions.
1/48 Skyraider AD-5 (A-1E) Product ID: 85-5327
Overview
Skill Level 2
Scale: 1/48
Length: 9-3/4"
Height: 4"
Wingspan: 12-1/2"
Parts: 130
Sheer reliability and massive ordnance capacity kept the piston-powered Skyraiders flying well into the jet-power era. The massive bomb load these planes carried allowed them to deliver millions of pounds of ordnance against ground targets in Korea and Vietnam. AD-5s were Skyraiders built with a tandem seating arrangement to facilitate pilot/co-pilot communication. After decades in action, the Skyraider was retired from American service in 1972. This kit features three seated pilot figures, folding wings with separate flaps, and landing gear you can model retracted or extended.
1/100 A-10 Thunderbolt II Easykit Product ID: 80-6597
Overview
Skill level: 2
Scale: 1:100
Length: 163 mm
Wingspan: 175 mm
Parts: 33
The A-10 is a plane built around a weapon. That weapon is the GAU-8 Avenger, a 30mm, seven-barrel Gatling-type cannon that fires depleted uranium cored 15oz projectiles at a rate of 3,900 rounds a minute. All that firepower is used to destroy hostile armor, artillery and vehicles engaged with American troops. Thunderbolts have many other features that make them perfect for CAS: heavy armor, redundant flight systems, multiple engines and long linger times. They're the birds you want on your side. This kit features snap-together parts for quick, easy construction.
