Roden has gone the step further and released the "Dux" built version of their Spad VII (with skis). For the enthusiast, modeler or research fiend it is a welcome addition to 1:32.
SPAD VIIc.1 - French fighter of World War I, introduced in 1916. It was built in large numbers during 1916 and 1917, not only in France but also in Great Britain and Italy, and in Russia by the 'Dux' joint-stock company. Russian-built SPAD VII types were used not only in World War I, but also during the post-revolutionary period. They took part in the civil war in Russia, and in the Soviet-Polish conflict of 1920. Some SPAD VII served in the Air Force of the Ukrainian National Republic.
An characteristic feature of the machines used in Russia was re-equipping with skis during the winter period. For this purpose the undercarriage was dismantled and in its place were fitted skis of various types. In total the Dux plant produced 100 fighters of this type.
