Techmod have announced a series of exciting decals for that classic of the USN - the Douglas Devastator. Two sets are being prepared in 1/72 and 1/48 scales for the Valom and Revell/Monogram kits respectively.
TBD-1 Devastator at War
ID. 48808 -10.31 EUR & ID 72132 - 6.66 EUR
The sheets contain decals for 5 aircraft and canopy masks in both scales.
TBD-1, BuNo 0299, 71-S-16, Scouting Squadron 71, USS Wasp, May 1941. Flown by LT B.V. Clark RM1c.P.R.Schiavone and RM1c H.G. Bradshaw, lost on 23rd May 1941 in training flight over sea.
TBD-1, BuNo unknown, T-1, Torpedo Squadron 2, USS Lexington, Battle of Coral Sea in May 1942. Flown by VT-2 commander Lt. Cdr J.Brett, AOM2c D.F. Hallock (observer) and ARM1c A.D. Hensley (gunner).
TBD-1 BuNo 0285, 1, Torpedo Squadron 3, USS Yorktown, Battle of Midway 4th June 1942. Flown by unit Commander, Lt. Cdr L. Massey, the aircraft was lost in the attack on Japanese carriers.
TBD-1, BuNo 1506, T-16, Torpedo Squadron 8, USS Hornet, Battle of Midway 4th June 1942. It was flown by VT-8 commander, Lt. Cdr J.C.Waldron and ACRM H.F. Dobbs, because T-1 was not ready to flight in time.
TBD-1, BuNo unknown, 7-T-7, Torpedo Squadron 7, USS Wasp. In March 1942 the aircraft was stored at Scapa Flow Royal Navy base when USS Wasp was transporting Spitfires to Malta.

Large-scale Finnish 109s
Following the success of their 1/72 and 1/48 scale sheets for Finnish Bf 109Gs, Techmod have decided to release the decals in 1/32 and 1/24 scales - a move which will undoubtedly prove popular with fans of large scale planes. Designed for the Hasegawa and Trumpeter kits respectively, each sheet contains painting masks for the canopy and fuselage bands.
Sets #24007 and #32024 are both priced at 10.31 EUR and feature decals for:
DL # IC, WN 13528, arrived to Malmi on 16th May 1943. Repainted as MT-222.
MT-222, WN 13528, 1/LeLv 34. Flown by W/O. I. Juutilainen, July 1943 Suulajärvi Air Base.
