Caraktère - Presse & Editions have sent us details of the latest issue of Aérojournal, the French-language magazine. Aérojournal Special #22 looks at the the Fw 190 in its ground-attack role.
Caraktere publishing is please to announce the release of Aérojournal special #22, dedicated to the Focke Wulf FW 190 and its Jabos versions.

" Essentially offensive weapon, the Luftwaffe dedicated a huge part of its means to support the ground forces. Although been born in a very different context during the Battle of England, Jabo (contraction of Jagdbomber, fighter-bomber) quickly finds a full employment in Russia.

Versatile fighter, the Fw 190 could not escape this evolution. Superior in every respect in Bf 109 in this role, it leads to two specialized versions, which, from the end of year 1943, begin to replace bombers in dive within new Schlachtgeschwader.

This second opus dedicated to Focke-Wulf Fw 190 is interested in these versions Jabos and in their use, both in the raids of nuisance above England and in the missions of tactical support on the eastern front, in the Mediterranean Sea and in Normandy. "
